LEGO Structural Engineering and Design Challenges Ages 6-8 by AscendlyTM

Ascendly will be instructing a Jr. Structural Engineering and Design Challenge, embracing the belief that if given fun and engaging projects, even the youngest children learn to think like an engi-neer. It transitions them from simply following instructions to becoming problem formulators and problem solvers. While build-ing with LEGOs, the program also encourages kids to design their own use-cases that tell a story of how an aspect of the project will eventually be used and to present those stories to the class. While still mindful of the limitations and opportunities of working with such young children, the program teaches engineering vocabulary, construction skills, and the engineering design process. In addition to daily projects, the children will also take part in a week-long design challenge. For more information, visit ascendly.com.

City Life

City Life focuses on different buildings and structures of the world. Exercises include making skyscrapers, bridges, castles, and more. Students will test their creations to ensure they meet engineer-ing standards, working each day towards a collaboratively built cityscape.
