A fleet of 320 heavy-duty vehicles collects 297,000 tonnes of waste from 40,000 customers. The group generated a turnover of 126 million euros in 2012. The needs of the group had changed and the former information system had simply become obsolete. The company was looking for a tool capable of supporting its growth, especially international growth; a group-wide tool with a shared structure. SAP Business All-in-One quickly became the solution of choice. It is a pre-configured solution that handles the needs of SMEs and met the company’s needs. All-in-One, whose standard version includes a genuine library of business process, allowed the company to considerably limit risks in terms of deadlines and budget. What are the advantages of the deployed solution? The main
advantage of SAP All-in-One is the great rigour of the software
which, by complying with accounting standards, produces
much more reliable, trustworthy information for the group. The
other advantage of SAP is the complete traceability of
information it provides, allowing for optimal financial analysis.
ENGAGEMENT & ADOPTION
As the project started, certain concerns were raised by several employees who were worried about being thrown into an overly complex, restrictive situation and drifting away from users. By relying on a network of in-house sponsors, those in charge of the project quickly demonstrated the relevancy of the chosen solution and transformed the initially hesitant employees into supporters. The easy-to-use interfaces also contributed greatly to the full acceptance of the new tool by the various teams at the headquarters and its subsidiaries.

OUTSTANDING POTENTIAL
Chimirec is now starting the roll-out phase of SAP BO business intelligence tools. These tools are seamlessly integrated with the ERP solution, which greatly facilitates implementation. Thanks to SAP’s outstanding potential, other projects are under way, such as the switch to paperless invoice management, hardware maintenance management, quality management, and supplier evaluation.
