Stoney Creek Church

Welcome Dr. Josh Whitfield, Allison, Jack and Abby! Our New Senior Pastor and Family

Thank you SCC for your attendance at our Called Business Meeting on Wednesday, May 16. The meeting was held for the purpose of hear-ing a joint recommendation from our Senior Pastor Search Committee, our Finance Committee and our Board of Deacons to hire Dr. Josh Whit-field to serve as Senior Pastor of Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church. We are excited to announce that the church voted overwhelm-ingly to call Dr. Whitfield to Stoney Creek Church.

Pastor Josh’s arrival will consist of two phases. On July 1, 2018, Pastor Josh will begin preaching in both Worship Services on Sunday mornings. On September 2, 2018, his full-time Senior Pastor responsibil-ities and regular office hours will begin. This will give him time to com-plete his Chaplain Residency responsibilities at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington where he will be working full-time through the end of August.

We look forward to having Pastor Josh and his family join us at Ston-ey Creek Church. Please be in prayer for our church and the Whitfield family as we enter into this exciting time of transition.

Quarterly Business Meeting—Wed., May 23rd

Our regular Quarterly Business Meeting will be held Wednes-day night, May 23rd, in the Sanctuary at 7:00 pm. Financial

reports are available in the Connector for your review. We look forward to seeing you then.

This morning in both services we

will take part in Holy Communion.

We invite all professed Christians to

take part in this special service as

we reflect on the Lord’s Last Supper

and what Christ did for us.

The beliefs of our Church are written in The Articles of Faith

and Principles of Church Government For Original Free Will

Baptist. We believe that this is a commemoration of the death of

Christ for our sins, in the use of bread which He made the emblem

of His broken body, and the cup, the emblem of His shed blood;

and by it believers express their love for Christ, their faith and

hope in Him, and pledges to Him perpetual fidelity. Matthew 26:20-29; Mark 14:18-25; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Cor. 0:16, 21; 1 Cor. 11:23-26
