All God’s blessings go together, like links in a golden chain. If he gives converting grace, he will also give comforting grace. He will send “showers of blessing.” Look up today, O parched plant, and open thy leaves and flowers for a heavenly watering. —Charles H. Spurgeon

Attention Sunday School Secretaries— Please return completed SS roll sheets to a bulletin holder and not the staff mailbox. Space is needed for event payments and other confidential information in the mailbox. Thank you.

tian Cadet Camp is $400 this year. If you would like to sponsor a child to camp this summer, make your check payable to Stoney Creek Church and designate on your check memo—Camp Scholarship. No matter the size of the gift ($25, $50, $100 or more)—you are helping make a difference in the life of a child for all eternity.

August 23—Dixie Queen Seafood and Simply Natural Creamery

Lunch at NC Seafood Restaurant (or Farmer’s Market Restaurant) at the NC Farmer’s Market in Raleigh and the 2018 “Got to be NC Festival”

at the State Fairgrounds! — Friday, May 18 @ 10:30 am Please sign up at the Senior Info Center

Bring your appetite and curiosity as we head to our state’s capital just in time to enjoy a delicious lunch at the State Farmer’s Market. You can choose to eat at the “NC Seafood Restaurant” or enjoy some great southern cooking at the “Farmer’s Market Restaurant.” Both restaurants are near each other at the State Farmer’s Market. After a great lunch, we will head di-rectly to the NC fairgrounds—not for the State Fair—but for something on a slightly smaller scale with less walking—the 2018 “Got to be NC Festival.” This annual event is sort of like a “mini” State Fair. It is an exciting festival highlighting all the great things from North Carolina. You can enjoy live music, food, animal and agricultural dis-plays, antique tractors, and much, much more. Free events include—but are not limited to—the concerts on the outdoor stage, antique tractor and farm equipment parade, commercial exhibits in the Graham Building, racing pigs, baby pigs being born at the pig birthing center, free grand-stand shows (such as bulldozer demonstrations and aerial drone demonstrations), a craft fair, a giant sand sculpture being created before your eyes, antique farm equipment, K9 Unit demon-strations, antique tractor pulls, rabbit agility shows and more. For a small fee, you can even take a ride on the “State Fair Flyer” (i.e. a chairlift built over the fairgrounds). There will even be a few carnival rides, pony rides and games for those of you who are more adventurous. Most of the festival is free with a few exceptions such as $3 admission charge to the Home Grown Fare Expo (i.e. the Food Expo) where North Carolina food companies will be sharing samples and selling some of the most delightful flavors North Carolina has to offer. There is also a cost for the rides, games and midway food. But you can easily enjoy an afternoon of family-style fun without ever spending a dime! If you are a “looker” instead of an “explorer,” you can find a bench and sit back and watch everyone walking by. Whichever you are, we hope you will join your friends for a great day of down-home celebration NC-style!

Senior Adult Bible Study—Tuesday

You are invited this Tuesday (5/1) as we study the Word of God, pray and fellowship together. The Bible teaches that God’s Word is “...a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Come let the Word of God brighten and guide your day. Please note, bible study may be cancelled due to the possible burial of Mrs. LaRose Caison.
