SCOPE OF WORK:
•Replace current method of devitalizing maze and seed stocks with more reliable steam treatment means to protect client intellectual property and protect environment from cross pollination of R&D seed stock

HISTORIC METHOD TO DEVITALIZE MAZE CROPS:
•Past/current method included emptying greenhouse collection bins into tented roll-off container followed by portable steam generator flowing steam into roll-off container
•Steam for 3 hour batch period per container•Eliminate manual labor to empty collection bins into roll-off container

•Fully automated loading of greenhouse collection containers
•Collection containers contain plastic pot, soil, maze crop and seeds
•Totally enclosed automated loading under negative pressure and HEPA filtration

STI DEVITALIZER SYSTEM FEATURES:•Automated collection bin cleaning & decontamination with 82° C. super heated water (no chemicals) •Direct steam impingement & Integral shredding to maximize crop exposure to steam treatment assures devitalization

SYSTEM FEATURES:•Continuous feed steam treatment means the STI Devitalizer waits for you (not the other way around) (no batch treatment)
•Exposure to 95-100° C for 60 minutes to assure devitaliztion of R&D seed stocks
•Totally enclosed feed area is under negative pressure and HEPA filtration to assure no fugitive emissions.

•Fully automatic unloading of 90% bulk reduced maze and seed stocks into top-loading self-contained hydraulic compactor
•Historic record keeping of treated materials including date, time, temperatures, weights available via desktop Ethernet connection in Excel format

SYSTEM EFFICACY TESTING:•Testing with self-contained biological indicators (SCBI’s)•SCBI is Bacillis atrophaeus population 10LOG6 bacterial spores introduced via spore test “EGG”

SYSTEM EFFICACY TESTING:•SCBI inside of the spore test “EGG” is retrieved at end of continuous feed steam treatment auger above the compactor
