Welcome to Steelskin.
Extraordinary Alternatives...
It’s been our motto since we opened in 1992. Back then, sustainabilitywasn’t really a developed concept, but we were always aware of thematerial choices we would offer, not only to our customers, but to ourwork force as well. Although many of these items and practicesrequired extra cost to implement, we had a feeling it would reapbenefits in the end, and by default, we had developed a highlysustainable line of products without changing gears; some like to sayit was a happy accident; I prefer extraordinary.
Steelskin and it’s collections are changing the way we think aboutkitchen and bath design. Fabricated here in the US utilizing stateof the art equipment and design principles, Steelskin is a valueengineered suite of sustainable, LEED applicable products thatleaves the competition behind. Steelskin has expanded and nowincludes, The Ecourban Collection, a sustainable cabinet systemfor kitchen, bath, and office, as well as, The Soupcan Collection, alternative surfacing materials ranging from cement based hybrids,to metallics such as Sueded Stainless Steel, Copper, and Zinc.
Whatever you’re looking for, Steelskin fits the bill: ResidentialKitchens & Vanities, Eco Conscious Alternatives, Outdoor or WetArea Applications, Chemically Sensitive Clients, Medical, Dental,or Professional Suites, Multi Unit, Large Scale Development, orHospitality Projects. We are committed to providing only thehighest quality sustainable products for our clients. We lookforward to a remarkable future, and we hope you can be part of it.

EcoVeneer.
Unlike most European style cabinet systems, EV is a furniture grade
product featuring matching veneered 3/4” panel construction
throughout the entire cabinet, from the door and drawer fronts, through
the interior panels and drawer boxes! EV features full extension
concealed drawer slides, slow close technology for all doors and
drawers, adjustable levelers and matching veneered plinth, and
stainless steel hardware as standard.
Our cellulose fiber based veneer product eliminates the traditional
deforestation process normally associated with a finished veneer
panel! Available in over 30 veneer patterns for kitchen applications, EV
features a 100% recycled NAUF core material, thermally bonded and
finished for extreme durability. These exotic and refined classics,
available in vertical or horizontal grain configurations, will provide years
of reliable performance when combined with our grain matched 1.5
mm ABS edgebanding (no PVC).
EV units are available in standard 3” increments with no metric
conversion required for planing or layout. Units can be customized in
height, width, and depth at no upcharge (you are simply charged for
the next standard sized increment).
Value is the essence of EV.

Ecosteel.
The material of choice in today’s finest kitchens, stainless steel has now
been taken to a new plateau with EcoSteel. An amalgamation of alloy,
accouterment, and sensibility, this system can be specified with a
thermofused metallic interior (ES), or as an all stainless steel cabinet box
utilizing our innovative weldless assembly system(ESX), and is available
in a multitude of configurations. As an all stainless steel specification,
ESX produces no off-gases or pollutants to assemble. ESX can be
utilized for exterior applications in any climate condition!
EcoSteel is available in 2 distinctive Finish options: Classic #4
and InvisaPrint. Both are complimentary to most stainless appliance
finishes. All doors and panels are constructed utilizing 18 ga. Type
304 stainless steel. InvisaPrint has a mill applied finish that cuts down
on maintenance and cleaning usually associated with stainless steel
panels. No more fingerprints to worry about! Specialty finishes, such as
our proprietary hand rubbed Sueded finish are available as well upon
request.

SOUPCAN (THE DOG)CIRCA 1999
Material transcended...
The line blurs as our mind’s eye navigates its way through a coalescence
of styles. At this junction, materials become interchangeable. Soupcan is
an exclusive collection; a merger between extraordinary surfacing
alternatives such as cement hybrids, stainless steel, copper, and zinc.
The combinations are infinite, but the results are consistent; unparalleled
quality and choices. Projects can be specified in exact proportions with
seamless integration of design and space requirements. Custom sink
and vanity designs, countertops, fireplace surrounds, wall panels, and
more. The applications and possibilities are boundless.
Soupcan is imagination!
The story behind the name (in case you were curious).
As you can tell by now, we don’t make soup, sell soup, or serve soup.
Our name came from the dog (yes, the dog came first). We found him in
an alley in 1991, pushing an empty soupcan around. He was as skinny
as a rail and as fast as lightning, but once we convinced him we were ok,
he decided to stick around. A year later, when we opened our business,
we named it after him. He came to work everyday until he passed
during the summer of 2007 at the ripe old age of 16 (something like
112 in dog years!) We should all be so lucky. He is missed, but never
forgotten.

FLOE
Fluid Lightweight Overlay Environment.
Revolutionary.FLOE™ is a proprietary polymer modified cement matrix that forms a fluid
lightweight overlay when spray applied onto a variety of substrate materials
in non-structural applications.
Lightweight.FLOE™ slabs with an edge build of 1-1/2” weighs in at 4 lbs per square ft.,
a weight reduction of almost 80% vs. conventional precast concrete!
Resists cracking.Truly flexible; even under deflection conditions! The polymer modified ce-
ment comatrix results in unparalleled flexural strength when compared to
any traditional precast element.
Colorful. The addition of iron oxide pigments allows for almost unlimited color
choice! Once cured, the material is diamond honed to expose the rich,
understated color and texture associated with polished concrete.
Clean.FLOE™ exhibits tremendous stain resistance. Our hand rubbed epoxy &
wax system seals the surface against damage from common household
chemicals and food items while exhibiting a beautiful low luster sheen.
Sustainable.Less is more. On average, FLOE™ reduces the portland cement demand
per sq. ft. of coverage by over 90%! Recycled content by weight
exceeds 80%. It’s easy to see why FLOE™ is taking green to a higher
standard. FLOE™ is LEED applicable for air quality and recycled content..

Sueded Sta in less
Sueding is a proprietary polishing process that we developed for our
stainless steel countertop products to achieve a uniform, velvet like finish.
This 7 step hand rubbed finish allows us to fabricate and blend tooling
marks and grain direction changes normally associated with most
stainless steel finishes. Sueded Stainless is much more fingerprint
resistant than standard directional finishes, and if scratched or damaged,
can be blended and repaired, in most instances, by the end user, some-
thing unheard of with typical #4 finishes.
Our countertops are constructed utilizing 14 ga. Type 304 stainless steel
wrapped over a NAUF core mdf or melamine substrate. Typical edge
thickness is 1.5”, but thickness can be specified at virtually any dimension
required. Edge treatments range from a simple squared edge, to bullnose
or marine edges. Backsplashes can be integrated or separate, stand
alone items. All welding is ground and blended to match our sueded
finish.. Sueded Stainless sinktops can be fabricated by welding in existing
stainless steel sinks from our line, or just about any manufacturer; we
re-polish the interior of these sinks to match our proprietary sueded finish.
We also specialize in fabricating custom sized pan sinks (fabricated pan
sinks are rectangular in shape) for custom applications where a specific
width and depth are required.

NON-FERROUS
ZINC - COPPER - BRASS
The term non-ferrous is used to indicate metals other than iron and alloys
that do not contain an appreciable amount of iron. The
Soupcan collection features Zinc, Copper, and the combined alloy
of both, Brass. These romanticized materials have been used for
centuries in other cultures as a material to clad table tops,
countertops, bartops and similar items. Unlike stainless steel, non
ferrous metals and alloys will oxidize and patina, moving from a
lustrous high polish, to an organic, non reflective sheen. The finish is liter-
ally alive and will continue to change for years to come.
Non-ferrous pieces can be polished at any time (10 days or ten years after
installation), to return them to their original pristine state, but the oxidation
process will start over again, therefore, most end users
prefer the pieces be left to oxidize and patina naturally.
Fabrication begins with a 1.5 mm (16 ga. Equivalent) sheet product that is
formed and pressed onto a substrate to achieve workable countertop sur-
faces. These tops can be utilized with drop-in, self-rimming sinks, select
undermount or farm sinks, and integrally formed and welded sinks. Back-
splashes can be supplied as independent, stand alone pieces, or integrally
formed into the countertop for a seamless look. Our non-ferrous collection
has also been used for wall panels, ceiling tiles, fireplace surrounds, cus-
tom furniture tops, and cabinet facing material.
