Clink Hostels specialise in bringing extraordinary travel experiences to the youth travel market. We're passionate about providing young travellers with an amazing city experience... a proper travel story!

We offer an affordable place to sleep, the local knowledge needed to make the most of a city, and unique environments that are fun, social and creative.

We have properties in the heart of Europe’s best-loved cities - London, Amsterdam, and soon, Dublin - with more to come.

A building comes to life when it’s brimming with art, music and creativity. That’s why we set up ClinkCREATIVE and initiatives underneath it like Stay & Scribble.

ClinkCREATIVE

ClinkCREATIVE is our arts programme set up to engage guests with artists, musicians and writers. Stay & Create is for visual artists, Stay & Play for musicians, Stay & Scribble for writers and bloggers.

STAY & SCRIBBLE

We know how hard it can be for aspiringtravel writers and bloggers to get out onthe road and find things to write about in new, exciting places. This is part of the reason why we started Stay & Scribble.

Stay & Scribble gives writers free or discounted accommodation at Clink in return for content we can share on our website and social channels. We help boost your profile and our guests get great content to help them plan their next trip!

ACCOMMODATION

Rooms at Clink are simple but comfortable - perfect for travelling creatives needing a place to get some well-earned shut-eye before heading into the city to explore.

Most rooms come with individual USB docks so you can recharge your electronic devices as you sleep.

SOCIAL AREAS

Our hostels are equipped with large, social areas where guests can chill out, socialise, eat, drink and recharge.

With a jam packed event schedule in both London and Amsterdam, there’s always something to get involved with! Catch a Stay & Play artist performing at one of our bars, rock up to one of our Solo Traveller Meet Ups or come along to karaoke and show us your skills … Writers will be sure to find lots to write about before they even step foot outside the hostel!

VIDEO/PHOTO

We're always on the look-out for innovative digital content creators too. We welcome videographers and photographers who are interested in creating travel videos, vlogs, photo projects or any other interesting visual or video content.

We oftern need videographers and photographers to document events at our hostels including gigs, parties, tours and general documentation. Interested? Drop us an email. You never know you could end up working for us on a freelance basis.

LONDON

We have two London hostels in the heart of King’s Cross, the city’s newest cultural quarter and its main transport hub. A stay at either hostel will give you easy access to all the wonders that London has to offer!

Clink261 is our smallest hostel in an old student union building. With a chilled out and welcoming vibe, it’s a great spot for those who like a little down time after a day of city exploration.

Clink78, just around the corner, is a little more rock and roll! Infamous punk band The Clash once stood trial in this grand Victorian courthouse - accused of shooting some expensive racing pigeons … Let your hair down at our basement venue ClashBAR or, if you’re feeling brave, sleep in one of the original prison cells … this is a building where stories are made. What’s yours going to be?

AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam is a city with an old soul and a modern spirit. Writers will find beauty and history in the tall, tilting merchant houses that sit pretty on the city’s network of canals. There’s plenty of adventures to be had exploring this compact city, either by foot or by bike.

Our Amsterdam hostel is a former laboratory located in the cool and creative ‘Noord’ district. The once cavernous halls have been transformed to create an inviting network of social spaces where guests can get involved with daily events or just chill out in our peaceful atrium or in-house cafe.

Just a short, free ferry ride from the back of Centraal Station across the IJ River, writers will find a whole lot to discover in our neighbourhood - a slightly lesser known part of the city. From hippie hangouts in old green-houses and eco cafes on the river bank to artist studios in a former industrial ship yard, there’s plenty to explore.

FAQs

How many nights can I stay for free? We generally offer a free night's stay for each article / guide, plus 20% off any other nights if you’re looking to stay longer to explore the city. If you’re a more experienced writer / have a demonstrated engaged following we may be able to arrange more free nights. Will I be paid for my written content?ClinkCREATIVE is a value exchange so you will receive free accommodation and breakfast in exchange for the content you produce. No monetary payment is made.

Do i need to sign a contract?Yes you will be sent a contract outlining what you'll be doing. You will need to sign this prior to your stay.

Can my friend / parter stay at the hostel with me? This is dependent on the situation. If our Outreach Specialist has booked a private room, you are welcome to share it with whoever you wish. If you are staying in a dorm we may ask that your friend / partner covers the cost of his or her bed.

When will i need to write the blog / send content back?All content produced must be sent to us 1 month after your stay at the hostel, unless agreement is made otherwise.

Will there be any social media posts / PR?Yes we will post about you on our socials & profile you on the ClinkCREATIVE website.

Where is the hostel? Clink78 is located 10 minutes walk from King's Cross St Pancras Station.ClinkNOORD is a free 5 minute ferry ride from Amsterdam Centraal Station, across the River Ij.
