In Luke 12:21, Jesus predicted disappointment for those who are not “rich toward God.” Have you wondered what it means to be “rich toward God”? Certainly, we are rich toward God when we see everything as a gift from Him. Those who are rich toward God are givers rather than takers. By grace, we freely receive, and we freely give. Through faith, we are empowered to express God’s love and are being rich toward Him as we love our neighbors.

St. Stephen Mixed Bowling League

begins Sunday, Sept. 10th Cherry Hill Lanes, Clarkston

We want to invite any interested bowlers from St. Trinity to join us. We bowl every other Sunday at 5:00 pm. Our league is just for fun and fellowship.

St. Trinity is hosting a packing party! Kids Coalition Against Hunger (KCAH)

Sunday, September 24th — packing party starts at 12:30 pm

KCAH coordinates packaging events throughout the eastern half of the U.S., feeding starving children around the world and in local communities. We will work together in an assembly-line setting to produce packets of dry food. The packets (which have a 3+ year shelf-life) are then boxed and distributed. Each packet provides enough nutrition for 6 adults or 12 children for a day.

The schedule for the day is:

• 11:00 am Setup and unpack food • 12:00 pm Light lunch/snacks

• 12:30 pm Pack food • 2:30 pm Clean up

Volunteers are needed to set up tables and chairs, and to unpack the dry food from the KCAH trucks. We will be packing 20,000 meals. The lunch is funded through a Thrivent Action Team grant. Look for the signup sheet in the Narthex at the Information Center. All questions can be sent to Carol Koenig at 248-882-8817 or [email protected], or Pam Boadway at 248-420-7757.

We are in need of a Sunday School teacher or team for Grades 5-8, and substitute teachers. All materials are provided. Please sign up at the Information Center in the Narthex.

Board of Human Care

VA Hospital Collection Drive

Now — September

The Board of Human Care is now collecting trial-size personal hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and denture-cleaning tablets, in addition to writing supplies such as pens, pencils, and notebooks for the VA Hospital. Please no books and no magazines. There is a box in the coat room for your donated items. Thank you for your support!

YOUTH CONFIRMATION CLASS Confirmation is for students in 6th-8th grades. Confirmation classes have concluded until September. RETIRED MEN’S BIBLE STUDY Leader: Karl Schneider. Meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 9:30-11:00 am. We meet again on September 5th.

LADIES’ BIBLE CLASS Meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 9:30-11:00 am. We will be starting a study of “I & II Peter”. We meet again on September 5th..

WOMEN’S BIBLE CLASS We will be starting a study by Sarah Young called “Receiving Christ’s Hope” at our next meeting. We meet the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month at 9:30 am. Next class is September 12th.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY Meets Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm in the Family Life classrooms from October-April. Class will resume in the fall.

LADIES’ LIFELIGHT BIBLE CLASS Meets Tuesday evenings from mid-September to mid-May at 7:00 pm in the FLC classrooms. Class will resume in the fall.

SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDIES Meets at members homes the 4th Friday of the month from 7-9 pm. We are now doing the study, “Crazy Love”.

QUILT MAKERS The St. Trinity quilting group make quilts for Lutheran World Relief and American Veterans. We meet every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 1-3 pm. We meet again on September 5th. See Annette Ashley for more information.

KNITTING GROUP Currently knitters are regrouping and planning their schedule for this year. We will have more information soon. For questions, speak with Carol Koenig or Judy Spresney.

Other Fellowship Opportunities

PASTOR’S BIBLE STUDY meets in the FLC classrooms every Sunday morning. We are currently doing a study of Romans.

ADULT BIBLE CLASSES

The “Faith in Action” class will do a 7-week study—Tim Keller on Practical Theology. Begins September 24th. An in-depth study of The Book of Romans, led by Phyllis Solmen, will start in September, and will meet in the L-Room .

CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday School is for Grades Preschool through 5th Grade. Join us in the Fellowship Hall every Sunday morning at 9:45 am.

JUNIOR HIGH BIBLE STUDY Grades 6th–8th grade. Meets in the Fellowship Hall throughout the school year.

SENIOR HIGH BIBLE STUDY Grades 9th-12th. Meets in the “Grace Haven” room.

Family Fun & Fellowship—Friday, October 6th, at 7 pm.

Planning to attend the worship service at the Breslin Center in Lansing? Remember to sign up for your free tickets on the sheet in the Narthex. At this event, they will be gathering items for various Lansing organizations. Our region will be collecting cleaning supplies, baby formula, diapers, and baby wipes for Hannah’s House, a Christ-centered shelter for homeless, pregnant women and their babies.
