The Solemnity of the Assumption of MaryFeast Day August 15
Father in heaven, all creation rightly gives you praise,
for all life and all holiness come from you. In the plan of your wisdom
she who bore the Christ in her womb was raised body and soul in glory to be with him in heaven.
May we follow her example in reflecting your holinessand join in her hymn of endless love and praise.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Knights of ColumbusOur Lady of Lourdes Council 5890
Fiftieth Anniversary Souvenir JournalThe Knights of Columbus are called “The right arm of the Church” and, rightfully so. The
Knights in Washingtonville have been the “right arm” of St. Mary’s and have been active in the Hudson Valley for over fifty years and will be celebrating their Fiftieth Anniversary next month. As part of their observance and celebration, the Council is putting together a journal of ads, Council history and current events and projects.
There’s still time to place a congratulatory, memorial, thank you, business, or any kind of ad to let the Knights know how much you appreciate all they’ve done for this parish, the local community and their work with the Lourdes Program which stretches across the Archdiocese of New York.
The Knights will also be selling raffle tickets for their Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration after all Masses on the weekend of August 20 and 21. First prize is an 8-day /7-night cruise to the Caribbean. Second prize is two lawn passes for the 2017 season at Bethel Woods. Third prize is 3-night 2-day stay at the Hudson Valley Resort in Barryville, New York. Also included with the purchase of the raffle ticket is admission to the celebration at the Knights of Columbus on September 17th with food, entertainment (Chris Turpin and others), soda and beer included. The price is $25 per ticket. Please see any Knights of Columbus member after any of these Masses.
If you would like information or to place an ad in the journal, please call Kevin Strommer at (845) 774-6575. If you would like an ad sheet or to place a photo-ready ad please e-mail Catherine Waugh at [email protected] or [email protected].
[Formerly WWWF Backpack Program]FOOD FOR KIDS is a non-profit organization developed by our Washingtonville local community. Our purpose is to help supply children in need in the Washingtonville Central School District with easy-to-prepare food for weekends during the school year with an extension of the program weekdays during the summer months.
Our women’s Bible study has done so well on Thursday evenings that we wanted to
add a men’s version. While the ladies meet in the St Joseph Room starting in September on Thursdays at 715pm our guys will get together with Father Maurer & others at 715pm in Father Tetreau Hall.
We’ll have bros, Bibles and (maybe) even a beer.
Daily Mass is 830am from Mondays to Saturdays
