STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
Both widows in today’s readings gave all
they had to the work of the Lord, one using
all her remaining food to feed Elijah and
the other offering her two copper coins to
the temple treasury. Faithful stewards
give all that is asked and trust the Lord to
be faithful to His promises (Our Sunday Visi-
tor, ibid., page 22).

extra-ordinary repairs to our facilities. This fall and
early spring, we need to replace the roof on the recto-
ry, parish office and garage as well as the south facing

boards that has rotted. The cost is $49,000. Please do
whatever you can do to help our parish and may God
bless you for what you do.
NOVEMBER Month of the “Holy Souls”
November is the month when we, as a church, remember and pray for all the members of our parish family who have died. This is a wonderful tradition since it is the means by which we maintain our spir-itual bonds with our loved ones who have entered into the heavenly Jerusalem. The names on the All Souls Day envelopes have been placed near the tabernacle, as a reminder to us that they are in the loving embrace of the Lord.
THANKSGIVING
is Thursday, November 22nd Our parish Thanksgiving celebration will take place on Wednesday evening, November 21, at 7PM as many are cooking, cleaning or
traveling to be with their families. As a parish, as families, as Americans, we have much for which to be thankful. We will give thanks in the most fitting way possible with a Mass of Thanksgiving We hope many people will be able to take part as our parish gives thanks!! We ask everyone who attends to please bring one non-perishable food item and leave them in the bins at the main entrance.
Please bring your breads that will be used at your Thanks-giving Table and they will be blessed during this liturgy in remembrance of the bread of life found in the Eucharist. Mass will also be celebrated Thanksgiving Day at 8AM.
Parish offices will be closed November 22nd & 23rd in observance of the
Thanksgiving holiday.
May we give thanks for the many blessings we have received, and pray that God
continues to bless us.

Once again, the bus this year is being sponsored by Rock Funeral Home.
STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL Part of our Pastoral Plan is the formation of a Stewardship Council as the third leg of our lay leadership teams. The other two are Pastoral Council and Finance Council. The Council: *Helps recruit new parishioners to share their time and talents. *Evaluates the stewardship effort and aware-ness efforts on an annual basis. *Discerns how to include a children’s steward-ship component to the parish stewardship effort. *Learns more about the spirituality of Steward-ship. *Develops an annual plan. (Calendar) *Evaluates successes and failures of the parish ministries. *Organizes a Ministries Fair when we have min-istries. If you are willing to share your time and talents for your parish, please speak to Fr. Dan.
NOVEMBER MASS COUNT
Every weekend in November, we will be counting attendance at all Masses. The Diocese requires we do a “head count” every November. The information is used to assess future pastoral planning, such as frequency of masses, number of priests assigned per parish, Etc. We will let you know the results in early December.
Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers & Altar Servers: Sign up sheets for the Christmas Masses
are in the Priests’ Sacristy. Please sign up
if you are available to serve at any of the
Masses.
Lector workbooks are also available to be
picked up in the Priest’s Sacristy.
Thank You!
