St. John Bosco Youth Ministry
St. John Bosco Catholic Youth Ministry reaches out to youth in
grades six through twelve from Holy Family Parish, Precious Blood
Parish, St. Joseph Parish and St. Mary Parish. We invite young peo-
ple to receive Jesus Christ’s love and mercy through experiences,
relationships, and prayer. We challenge young people to grow in
personal relationships with Jesus Christ and one another as we en-
counter the life and mission of our Catholic faith community and
become disciples of Jesus Christ to share the good news with our
world.

with friends and of course, snacks are provided. High school teens
will not only learn about their faith but they will also find out a little
bit of what their personal mission is in life.
As part of its Safe Environment Program for the protection of chil-
dren and youth, the Diocese of Evansville has contracted with a new
company for conducting background checks on employees and vol-
unteers. If you work or volunteer with the youth, on the grounds of
St. Mary Parish, you must have a background check. That includes
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H. If you have any questions, contact
Sherri Hartley, St. Mary’s Youth Protection Coordinator, at 812-482-
7041, ext 22.
Communion to the Homebound
Are you unable to attend Mass? Would you like to have the Eucha-
rist brought to you each week at your home? We have volunteers
from the parish who take communion to the homebound on Monday
morning around 8:30am. If you would like to receive a visit and
have someone bring you the Eucharist, please contact the parish of-
fice at 812-482-7041 and we would be glad to add you to our list.
From-the-Desk-of-the Pastor,
Annual St. Mary Church Picnic today, September 10. My personal thanks to all parishioners who have worked and are working to pro-
duce such a beautiful and faith-filled annual event, enjoyed by all! It is wonderful to see the parish community providing and working
together so that fun and fellowship is most truly enjoyed and welcomed by all. To all our guests we sincerely welcome you and those
guests who annually return and support us, “thank you”. As the brightness of the day inspires us, and the brightness of the Holy Spirit
guides us, let us, everyday of our lives, sing out His praises! Again, Welcome and Enjoy the day with family, friends and parishioners of
St. Mary Church. (Fr. Erbacher, “Effie”)
“Construction Managers”
As we very shortly will begin the actual construction of our new
church at St. Mary, I have asked and appointed Pat Gress and
Patrick Mendel to volunteer their services and expertise to serve
as my “Construction Managers” for this project. I obviously will
be present and observe almost daily the construction, but Pat and
Patrick will facilitate any and all questions that contractors may
have, and then advising me of situation changes. The willingness
of both these men to serve as “Construction Managers” and to
answer questions on site, and offer me counsel, is most important
to me so that we all together, as proud St. Mary Parishioners, will
have a beautiful church to serve not only this generation, but
those to follow us! Thank You Pat Gress and Patrick Mendel for
accepting this position! (Fr. Erbacher, “Effie”)

Have you ever been interested in joining the Catholic
Church? Do you know a friend or relative who might be
interested? The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of
Adults) is a process whereby people gather to explore the Catholic
faith and make a decision whether or not they would like to be initiat-
ed into full communion with the church. Classes will be starting
soon. For more info, call Martha at (812) 482-7041, ext 45. Cemetery Update
By the gazebo, near the cemetery, is a patio storage box that con-
tains flowers that have been blown off the headstones. Check and
see if any of these flowers are yours. Please mark your flowers
before you put them on the headstone so we can return them to
the correct place if they get blown off. Also, please remember
that nothing can be in or on the ground. These items become very
dangerous during mowing season.
