of SJB, may she rest in peace. ST.JOHN’S CATHERDRAL SPECIAL COLLECTION: Next weekend we take the annual second collection in support of your Cathedral in Portsmouth. Due to the lockdown and restrictions a ‘Give as you Live’ page has also been created to enable you to donate online at: https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/cathedral-annual-appeal Understandably, we all are aware that these are difficult times for us all, but please give generously to support your cathedral, gift aiding your donation wherever possible.
OFFICE HOURS: Restricted office hours Tuesday-Friday 12- 2pm whilst I home school Bethan.
BISHOP PHILLIP: Has sent us booklets to pass on to you all. During 2020-2022 he is inviting us all to undertake a period of intense, spiritual renewal. The overall purpose of these years is to grow in faith that we might be better equipped for mission and service. The COVID lockdown gave us the opportunity to step back from our busyness of life. The booklet ‘The Year of the Word 2020-2021’ is full of ideas and suggestions as to how we might keep special this Year of the Word. I will leave them in the church for you to take once the church is re-opened after Fr. Bill’s break. But please remember, if you pick one up you have to take it home with you!!!
Thankyou

Today’s Psalm Response: Here I am Lord! I come to do your will.
PEACE SUNDAY: Today is the 54th World Day of Peace and this year Pope Francis asks us to think about ‘A Culture of Care as a Path to Peace’. “How many resources,” he says, “are spent on weaponry, especially nuclear weapons, that could be used for more significant priorities such as ensuring the safety of individuals, the promotion of peace and integral human development, the fight against poverty, and the provision of health care.” Pope Francis calls on us to “strive daily, in concrete and practical ways, to form a community composed of brothers and sisters who accept and care for one another.” Catholic peace movement Pax Christi. See their website for suggestions tp promote peace in our lives. https://paxchristi.org.uk/peace-sunday-2021/ This week also marks the beginning of Christian Unity Week. PAOLA MORETTI: We have just heard that Paola Moretti died on Wednesday. A much loved parishioner
We have been given Appeal envelopes - unfortunately as the church is closed whilst Fr. Bill is on leave, I cannot distribute them. However, they will be available to collect from the end of January and will need to be returned to the Cathedral in that same envelope (a stamp will be required).
