We would like to welcome all our new families to St John's. Our children have settled so well - they are just amazing! They have quickly picked up the routines and are busy developing new friendships and working extremely hard. We have held our first whole school worship in 17 months! Class teachers will be sending the autumn term letter home via email by the end of next week. This will provide you with an overview of the term and key dates. We are looking forward to our new academic year, where we can now hope- fully provide a full school experience for our pupils and families. We will be commencing extra-curricular activities soon and teachers have already planned educational visits for their classes. We are also developing a calendar of events that you will be able to attend. Meet the staff (Years 1 to 6) You are welcome to pop in on Monday 6 September to meet your child's new class staff. This is a short meeting so you get to meet the staff working in your child's class. If you need to speak to the teacher about anything specific, please make an appointment for a separate meeting. Meeting times are: 1530hr, 1545hr & 1600hr Reception Parents' Welcome Meeting REMINDER A meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th September 1830hr in the hall for our Reception parents. Playground equipment
We would like to remind you that the playground equipment must not be used before and after school. There is a weekly rota for children to use it in school time.

Violin, Flute and Clarinet Lessons for KS2 pupils
If your child would like to learn to play any of the above mentioned instruments, please let the school
office know as soon as possible. There is a £50 per term tuition fee but there is no charge for the hire
of the instrument. A peripatetic teacher comes into school to deliver a 20 minute lesson on a weekly
basis. For those pupils already taking lessons, lessons will resume next Tuesday (07/09) for violin and
next Wednesday (08/09) for woodwind.
Catering News
Please find attached the lunch menu (we will commence with Week 1 next Monday 6
September). The children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 receive a free school meal.
Otherwise, the cost is £2.20 daily which must be paid via Parent Pay. Your Parent Pay account can be
topped up with a as much as you want to and it will only be debited as and when your child has a school
dinner. Please ensure there are sufficient funds by 10am on the day your child is having a dinner.
PE
PE lessons will commence next week. On PE days the children will need to come dressed in their PE kits and will remain in them all day.

Covid-19 Update We are very aware that Covid-19 has not just disappeared. We have created an updated Risk Assessment and Outbreak Plan please find attached. We are very much aiming for business as usual, however, we are still promoting good hygiene, ensuring rooms are well ventilated and social distancing wherever possible.
