Presidents Message—Steve Soltwedel The snowmobile season is fast approaching, and we have had several snowfalls to remind us of this. Make sure your registrations are up to date, trail passes ordered and re- ceived, and sleds checked over and ready. Be sure to stay on trails when they open and remember that our use of the trails is a privilege, not a right. As November comes to an end our club has much to be thankful for. The support of the local community through donations and map ads along with the support of you our members is what keeps us going. There are countless vol- unteer hours put in that also need our thanks and recogni- tion: members that showed up for trail brushing; Directors and officers; our treasurer Ed Siergiej; our secretary Kay Schultz; Pam Gebhardt who publishes our newsletter; Ozzie and Peg Ausloos who organize and teach our safety class and so much else; Jim Wendt who oversaw the groomer barn rebuild and trail boss duties; and Tom Christensen who helps with our newsletter and enters our grooming expenses for reimbursement. We have much to be thank- ful for. As many of you know by now, the Hillers Radar Run nor- mally occurring the beginning of February has been can- celled. Besides being a source of income for the club, it required large number of volunteer hours. Our second win- ter event, the Arrowhead Groomer Show remains undecid- ed at this time. The snowmobile safety class will be held as planned and your Directors voted to have a December Christmas Membership Meeting at the Whitetail. Details of these events can be found elsewhere in this newsletter. We are also planning to have our January membership meeting held on a Saturday morning to afford our out of town members a chance to attend. On behalf of your Officers and Directors, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years. Thank You to Our Property Owners Who Help Make Our Trail System Great!

The Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club thanks all the Landowners across our community who are gracious enough to

allow marked snowmobile trails to cross their property. Obviously without your generosity there would be no

St. Germain trail system for our members and visitors to enjoy.

Secretary’s Report—Kay Schultz Just a short note this month. Our November membership meeting drew about 30 people—with 3 new members in at-tendance. With only one month before the start of the sea-son, I hope you have your membership dues in and your trail passes ordered. It is also the time to put the finishing touch-es on your special snow dances. The snow that we have got-ten has pretty much melted and there is a little ice on the lake’s shoreline. A good wind will take that away. Let’s hope that in these strange times we have a good snowmobiling season.

Kay Schultz

Trail Boss—Jim Wendt Our brushing is complete. My hope is that we do not have another November or December ice storm which takes down many trees in its path. Our new drivers will begin basic training soon before getting to work with real snow. It’s a great group of guys who will, I know, do a great job. All snow fence is up and signing is nearly complete. Getting a 100 mile trail system is no small task, I just hope we don’t have any surprises. We have set in place a procedure to protect against the COVID virus in the barn. Drivers will take their tempera-tures when they come into work to screen for a possible case. I hope we can avoid any outbreaks within our crew. I hope you and your families are staying safe as we await the start of our favorite season of all! It will be here before you know it! Happy Trails! Jim

Seasons Eatings

It’s that time of year again to open our

hearts to those less fortunate than us. Once

again, at our annual Christmas party at the

Whitetail Inn, we will be collecting non-

perishable food and personal care items for the Vilas Food Pantry. Items that

are needed most are cereals, granola bars, canned meat, boxed dinners,

peanut butter and toiletries such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant,

etc. Of course, money is always appreciated. The food pantry works with local

grocers to get vouchers for meat and fresh vegetables. Thank you in advance

for your generosity!

The Future of Snowmobiling in Wisconsin Depends on You—

RIDE RESPONSIBLY Please obey posted speed limit signs on all town roads. Speed limits will be strictly enforced. The use

of roads is a privilege that may be taken from us if we do not use them carefully.
