HUMAN TRAFFICKING:
DATE: 6
TH SEPTEMBER, 2016
Organized by: Women cell and Equal opportunity Cell
Conducted by: RHOUMAI ORGANISATION
Objective: To create cognizance about Human trafficking and raising awareness of child pornography
Human trafficking is the trade of humans for the purpose of forced labor, sexual slavery, or
commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others. It is a new form of slave which
affects not only the life but also the society which can occur within a country or transnational.
The main reasons of human trafficking are:-
Sexual harassment
Forced marriage
Forced labor and domestic servitude for the purpose of sexual exploitation
Human trafficking mostly taken place in rural areas of lower class people of the age above 5-
14. The girls are brought from villages to work as labors, but they are sold in Red light area
as victims. The teenagers are trapped to human trafficking by the source of social media (face
book, WhatsApp, Instagram, messenger, etc.) the girls make friendship with unknown boys in
social media and later fall in love with them. They spend some time with each other for
months and later boy will cheat the girl by doing wrong promises and sell her to the main
head of human trafficking in return he will be getting some money.
The other main source of human trafficking is pornography. The young generation is mostly
attracted to pornography they watch dirty videos, nude pictures, and sexual activities. Once
they watch it becomes a practice for them which they watch continuously. After watching
they tend to do practically and thus rape cases occur.
To conclude:
The government of India should block the pornography sites
In schools and colleges they have to introduce sex education to stop human
trafficking.
Girl’s education should be increased and should stop working as slaves.
Every girl should be taught to fight for themselves by training them in life skills like
self defense, karate classes, kung fu classes etc.
Social media should be used in proper and correct way. So that it will not misused by
the young generation

the body increases at the end of the program students were filled with energy and peace. It
was one of the good experiences for the students.
A few minutes of Yoga during the day can be a great way to get rid of stress that accumulates
daily-in both body and mind. Yoga postures, Pranayama and meditation are effective
techniques to release stress. Meditation gives Relaxation to mind and body in addition to that
it gives calm mind, good concentration and Rejuvenation of the body and mind etc.
Particularly for a student, Yoga is a great remedy to remove their tensions which definitely
affects their health. Yoga helps students by giving them strength so that they can easily
manage all pressures and can give their best intellectual abilities.

The session began with a short prayer.
Prof. Hifsa Hasmat started the session by defining stress management, that they are unnatural
events that elicit feelings of stress. She divided her session into two parts – the first
explaining situations which give rise to stress and the second, how to manage stress.
She said that you will probably find that your fellow students are more motivated, your
instructors are more demanding, the work is more difficult, and you are expected to be more
independent. She then went on to explain some of the characteristics of Stress. She said it is
an overwhelming, uncontrollable experience and that it is a normal response to an abnormal
event. It is outside the range of usual human experience. It taxes an individual’s coping
resources. However, it is a subjective experience and thus its severity varies, for example the
degree of feeling fear, threat and so on.
Are you experiencing too much stress? Here are a few common indicators:
Difficulty concentrating
Increased worrying
Trouble completing assignments on time
Not going to class
Short temper or increased agitation
Tension
Headaches
Changes in eating habits (e.g., “stress eating”)
Changes in sleeping habits
She also spoke on the Ways of reducing and managing stress
Start by filling out a goal-setting worksheet.
Avoid procrastination.
Exercise regularly.
Practice good sleep habits.
Plan leisure activities to break up your schedule.
Recognize the role your own thoughts can play in causing you distress.
Find humor in your life. Laughter can be a great tension-reducer.
Seek the support of friends and family when you need to “vent” about situations that bring on
stressful feelings.
Try setting a specific goal for yourself that will improve your mood and help you reduce
stress.
The floor was then open for questions with several students asking questions and clarifying doubts.
The session then came to a close with the clarification of doubts. It was truly an insightful session.

AWARENESS ON HEALTH & HYGIENE:
THEME: Personal hygiene
DATE: 11TH
MARCH 2017
TIME: 10.30 AM
OBJECTIVE: To create awareness on women's health and health issues that affect
women. A short awareness session on the personal hygiene was conducted for the students; the session aims
to demonstrate the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene and illustrate the importance of
comprehensive cleaning to maintain a good health and a better personality in the society. Personal
hygiene is important for many reasons, for instance, to have a better personality, a good health, for
social reasons and for psychological issues. Good hygiene perpetuates a nice image of an individual in a
society. Emphasizing on good personal hygiene can reduce a risk of many social, metal, and health
problems. The good personal hygiene is as simple as hand washing which can reduce the plethora of
illnesses, infections, and disorders. In a social situation a clean and tidy appearance can boost one’s
confidence and reflects a positive image of that individual to others. It is more frequently noticed that a
clean and tidy person usually gets more attention in a public platform and people usually treads to trust
him/her more. Unhygienic people are mostly avoided by others and most of the times the stress level of
unhygienic people is high as compare to hygienic people. So to keep ourselves socially, mentally, and
physically healthy it is important to be dirt free and should maintain a hygienic life style.
Main objectives of the session are:
Awareness on importance of personal hygiene.
Demonstrate the social importance of personal hygiene to maintain a hygienic life style.

Awareness on social websites
Date: 3 April 2017
Venue : D6
Faculty : Ms Priya MS
Time: 11.30 Am
Objective: To raise awareness about the use of social media, the advantages and
disadvantages of using it.
The social websites are a set of social relations that link people through the World
Wide Web.
The social web encompasses how websites and software are designed and developed in order
to support and foster social interaction. These online social interactions form the basis of
much online activity including online shopping, education, gaming and social networking
websites. The social aspect of Web 2.0 communication has been to facilitate interaction
between people with similar tastes .These tastes vary depending on who the target audience
is, and what they are looking for. For individuals working in the public relation department,
the job is consistently changing and the impact is coming from the social websites. The
influence, held by the social network is large and ever changing.
Few popular social websites are Facebook, Whats app, Etc
A social networking service is an online platform which people use to build social
networks or social relations with other people who share similar personal or career interests,
activities, backgrounds or real-life connections.
Everything has its advantages and its disadvantages. Social networking sites are no
exception. We live in a time when technology has reached such heights that no aspect of life
is complete without it .Social networking sites are that innovation of technology that makes
this huge world of our look small.
Beginning with the advantages of the various social networking sites such as Twitter,
Facebook, Instagram and various others;
These give us a platform to express our thoughts and share it with billions of people out
there, know their views and interact with them.
No matter how many miles apart it makes us feel close to the ones sitting on the other
end of the screen.
It makes distance look nothing but just a word.
Apart from communication between people it also gives us an opportunity to get various
information about the people or celebrities we admire.
It makes us feel closer to the ones we idolise. Often it makes us come in contact with
long lost friends.
Social networking sites also are seen as a get away from the daily stressful monotonous
life that many lead. A blessing for the man who can't get frequent holidays to meet his
dear ones and whose day starts and ends in front of the computer screen at his workplace.
Many people cannot afford to travel the world like others can ,but the pictures shared on
social networking sites makes them feel a lot less sad about that.
Social networking sites have been the place to discuss issues that are international,
national, local and have time and again attracted attention of concerned authorities which
is a great advantage.
Moving on to the disadvantage part of the social networking site.
First and foremost it makes life so easy that it makes us lazy. Kids these days prefer
"chatting" over playing games.
They are always glued to their phones and computers socializing .They forget that there
is a world beyond.
Outdoor games become secondary for these tech savvy kids who trying to cope up with
this changing world lose their childhood to some gadgets.
Social networking sites as mentioned earlier gives us a platform to express our views ,
but often they take a nasty turn and becomes a controversy. Not only that one has to be
extremely careful about what he shares and with who he shares cause a few number of
times we come across cases or should I say crimes in news channel which have had their
initiations on social networking sites .
It becomes very easy to access someone's personal information and use it to the persons
disadvantage. It is such case that makes us question the safety of these social networking
sites.
Also these sites on a number of occasions are used to instigate people on a certain issue
as they provide a wide platform and a lot of independence which also makes us question
the amount of independence the sites provide and whether there should be some kind of
restrictions.
Thought these days the social networking sites are coming up with security settings, we
on a personal basis should be extremely careful.
So in short, a social networking site has innumerable pros and cons. What is needed is
awareness among people about the cons while enjoying the pros of it .And on the part of the
social networking sites, they should be more responsible about security issues and protection
of information of individual users.
