SAINT ANNE’S CATHOLIC CHURCH BRISTOL, VIRGINIA September 10, 2017 Remember St. Anne’s in your Will and Trusts
Take to heart the words of today’s Gospel. As Christians,
we are called to be reconciled with Christ and with one
another. There is no room in the faithful heart for grudges.
Christ is in our midst today as we gather! Look around and
see His presence in your sisters and brothers. May we
continue to recognize Christ’s presence in others as we go
out into the world!

Tuesday: Colossians 2:6-15; Luke 6:12-19
Wednesday: Colossians 3:1-11; Luke 6:20-26
Thursday: Numbers 21:4b-9;
Philippians 2:6-11; John 3:13-17

Saturday: 1 Timothy 1:15-17; Luke 6:43-49
Scripture for next Sunday (24th/Ordinary)
Sirach 27:30—28:7
We cannot nourish anger and expect our own sins
to be forgiven.
Romans 14:7-9
Whether we live or die, we do so in Christ.
Matthew 18:21-35
Jesus says we must forgive not seven times,
but seventy-seven times.
The word from next Sunday’s scriptures is
“reconciliation”. Sirach tells us that wrath and anger are
hateful things. Jesus says we must forgive seventy-seven
times. Let us reflect on grudges we have held and
resentments we carry still. May these readings be the spark
that lights our way to reconciliation with all our sisters and
brothers.

“40 Hours” of Adoration” For the Evangelization of St. Anne Parish
Sunday 9/24, 3:30pm—Exposition (at the end of
the Spanish Mass)
— Tuesday 9/26—Benediction at 8:00am
It is the heart of who we are as Catholics: the Real
Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The Holy
Father, in his recent encyclical “The Church and the
Eucharist”, is calling for heightened appreciation of
this beautiful gift from God through adoration of the
Blessed Sacrament. A Holy Hour gives us the
opportunity to honor Our Lord’s request and place
ourselves before Him. We are asking all parishioners
to sign-up for one hour of adoration during the 40
hour period. Please join in prayer for the
evangelization of St. Anne Parish. Please sign-up in
the commons so that we know all 40 hours will be
covered and that we have at least two people for each
hour. Thank you!
Volunteers needed— 4 hrs/week at Bristol Regional
Medical Center. Many types of help is needed—please
contact Becky Blevins at 423-844-2831.
