Ross Mantle’s sly, playful, and sometimes surreal photographs and texts connect the buried paths between General Braddock’s lost colonial paychest, America’s unquestioned obsession with progress, and Manifest Destiny. “Misplaced Fortunes” invites the visitor to view American history as a mystery and as a puzzle, asking how the promise of treasures, and our desire to seek them, continues to define us.Through March 13
