The Rocky Horror Picture show. The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 British-American musical comedy horror. It's the weird and wonderful as newly engaged couple Brad and Janet encounter a problem when they car halts in the rain. They both look for contact only to find themselves at the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter a transvestite. When Frank-N-Furter announces that he is returning to the galaxy Transylvania. Riff Raff the butler and Magenta the maid declare that they have plans of their own. 4. Time Warp O Spoon feeds the audience with a fast rhythm and notes with a short attack and sustain and decay to create a tense atmosphere to underscore the action. O Ambient mics could be used under floor tiles but they dont use them as its all pre- recorded to create a better sound effect. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phLmf1P hB6Q 5. Bill Fontana. Bill Fontana (born USA 1947) is an American composer and artist who developed an international reputation for his pioneering experiments in sound. Since the early 70s Fontana has used sound as a sculptural medium to interact with and transform our perceptions of visual and architectural spaces. 6. Speed of time 2008 O Environmental sounds- Wants you to know that there is music all around us and wants you to just stop and listen. O He puts different microphone recordings scattered around London in churches and on top of buildings from far distances to get bells and marching men of the acoustic life and movements. http://www.resoundings.org/Pages/Speeds _of_Time_new.html Most people don't take snapshots of the little things. The used Band-Aid, the guy at the gas station, the wasp on the Jell-O. But these are the things that make up the true picture of our lives. People don't take pictures of these things. One Hour Photo 7. Compare & Contrast The time warp spoon feeds the audience by using notes of the short attacks, sustain and decay these notes inform the audience that they are meant to feel tense which is backed up by brad & Janet expressions, how ever the music is major which is backed up by the rest of the cast expressions. How ever in Bill Fontana speed of time, he uses displacement of sound, as he puts sound in various places around London, where the sounds wouldnt normally be heard. 8. Compare & Contrast Another component of musical theatre is sound effects and these can be achieved through using microphones or pre-recorded sounds. For example when Columbia begins to tap dance, pre-recorded sound is used. This could be used because they want the audience to believe she is tap dancing and want the audience to focus on the sound effect. How ever to achieve this they also could of used Ambient mics which would be place on the stage in order to pick up the sound. How ever Bill Fontana uses a network of micro phones in places such as, clock towers as we here in speed of time. This enables the audience to believe in the displacement as the speakers are placed where the microphones picked up the sounds effects.
