Camera Shot

Sound “There are no strings on me”

“You want to protect the world, but you don’t want it to change”

“No strings can hold me down” – Pinocchio

Purpose of effect

The narrative of Ultron’s low and mechanical voice with a reveal of his characteristics makes this shot very edgy, and this is also a tense moment as this shot focuses on his main appearance; his face. Showing his threatening robot facial expression including his menacing words.

This shot shows all of the main characters of the movie. They all look anxious and tense and nervous, with the narrative of Ultron’s voice this makes them seem more vulnerable

The theme song from Pinocchio which has an eerie twist combined with Black Widow in a long shot with her figure in the distance makes her look exposed, making the audience feel worried and apprehensive for what is coming

Camera Shot

Sound “I’ve got no strings to hold me down…” – Pinocchio, Marvel’s twist making it slower and creepy

Continuing the theme music of the Pinocchio song, with a mechanical low hum as this shot appears.

“But now I’m free…” (Pinocchio singing) with a machinelike sound

Purpose of effect

This extreme long shot shows Iron Man in a mid shot. The sound combined with the setting makes the audience feel stunned, it also shows Tony Stark in his suit for the first time in the trailer – showing he is ready for danger

As the shot appears, a low mechanical hum plays as Ultron (the middle dark figure) turns himself towards Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. This shows Ultron as a threat to the audience and also shows us a dark side to him, also due to the lighting and his robotic characteristics.

This shot shows four of the Avengers, all in a circular position obviously defending themselves or something behind them. With the use of the sound, it makes the audience wonder “What is free?” causing a atmosphere of suspense, curiosity and insecurity.
