1. O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing O for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer's praise, the glories of my God and King, the triumphs of his grace!

Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease; 'tis music in the sinner's ears, 'tis life, and health, and peace.

He speaks, and listening to his voice, new life the dead receive; the mournful, broken hearts rejoice, the humble poor believe.

In Christ, your head, you then shall know, shall feel your sins forgiven; anticipate your heaven below, and own that love is heaven.

Who We Are:

We are a collection of pastors, musicians, and cicerones

(AKA beer nerds) in the Cape Fear region.

What It Is:

It’s as simple and wonderful as it sounds: we drink great craft beer and sing hymns. It’s

like the Southern version of an Irish pub singalong. Of course, you don’t have to be

a beer drinker or even a believer to participate. Anyone is welcome!

Our Values:

Hospitality: When we say anyone is welcome, we mean everyone. As we say, “Y’all

means all!”

Non-Judgmental: We seek to provide an atmosphere where no one feels like they

are being judged. Too many people suffer from PTCD (post-traumatic church disorder),

and we want to provide a place where people can sing the songs of their heart without

worrying about what other people think of them.

Joy: We like to have fun! The Bible lists the “fruit of the Spirit” in Galatians 5, and

right after love is joy. So, we sing, we celebrate, and we laugh together.

No Lines: Of course, that doesn’t mean you won’t have to wait for a beer. What it

means is that we believe the lines between what is “sacred” and what is “secular” are

artificial, and we will walk all over them. So, you might hear “Amazing Grace” sung to

the tune of “House of the Rising Sun” or a mash-up between a hymn and a reggae

song. And of course, we’ll probably sing our unofficial state anthem, “Wagon Wheel.”

Generosity: We believe that God is generous, and we have been made in the image

of God, so we ought to reflect that generosity. That means that we should be profligate

tippers with bartenders and servers, who work so hard to help us have an enjoyable

experience.
