This great feast of Christ the King allows us to remember the paradoxical nature of the reign of Christ. Ours is a king whose arms are flung wide to embrace the world in love, but those arms were nailed to a cross, a form of execution for the lowest. Christ’s power to give life is manifested in the midst of powerlessness. Christ unmasks the false illusions of political or economic power or social prestige and shows that his reign is to be found with the poor, the helpless and among sinners. Will we join him?

We invite parishioners to participate in the San Jose Hope Tree Project. The project is designed to give children in need to have a joyous Christmas this year.

“The Christmas Hope Tree” will be placed in the Foyer on December 1st. You will have an opportunity to choose a child’s name and become their sponsor or even donate any dollar amount for wrapping supplies and other items that are needed. Sponsors will obtain item(s) on child wish list and return unwrapped gifts to the Parish office. A Diocesan Celebration in Honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Attendees will gather at 7:30 a.m. A diocesan celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guada-lupe will be held Dec. 7 in downtown Austin at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Austin for announcements and depart in procession at 8 a.m. The procession will end at San José Parish in Austin, where Mass will be celebrated by the Bishop at 10:30 a.m. A limited number of lunch tickets are available for purchase for $8.00 each.
