description

We are in the "urban millennium"

Profit !  51% of world GDP is produced in 600 cities !  By 2025, 40% of global GDP growth will be generated by middleweigh cities in emerging markets

Planet Cities consume: !  Two-thirds the world's energy !  60% of its drinking water !  And generate up to 70% of its CO2 emissions

People !  2009: 50% of the world's population lives in cities !  2030: urban population will grow from 3.5 billion to 4.7 billion

Cities offer huge growth potential and need pioneering solutions to solve their problems

From individual island solutions and single products to cross-linked intelligent infrastructure solutions

!  How to get enough electric power, … how to bring enough goods into the city?

!  How to manage the ever increasing traffic?

!  How to reduce the energy consumption … and emissions?

!  How to ensure security and safety of people?

!  How to finance all this?
