Hello Chapter Members,
Summer is almost over, yeah!!! Can’t
wait for the fall!!!! My favorite time of the
year.
We had a great chapter and business
meeting in August. Jeanetta Cimo was an
awesome teacher. We had a great time
painting with her, my favorite, a Halloween
project.
In our meeting, we had a discussion
about using the $250.00 we normally
budget for the museum and donate it to
SDP so that they can ship the museum piece
back to SDP. It has caused a great big
expense for them and they need our help. It
was voted and passed, so
we will be sending them
that money.
Fliers were passed
out for our auction.
Thank you, Nicole, for
putting it together, and
Joe Palmer for printing
them for us. We need to
have all painted auction
pieces by our next chapter
meeting, so please bring
them and give them to
me.
We only have a few weeks after our
September chapter meeting to pull the
auction together. October 13 is the big day,
only 2 months away. I Still can’t believe how
fast this year has flown by! Wow!!!
We also are having a pot luck that day.
Sheila Hughes is taking the sign ups for it. If
you can bring something, let her know.
Thank you.
And don’t forget to invite your friends
and families. Last year was so successful.
We want it to be that way again this year.
The more we have, the better it will be. It
should be a great and fun day, like it was
last year.
Next month the new slate of officers
will be announced. Calls are already in
progress. Remember we need a new board.
Please find it in your hearts to step up and
serve in such a rewarding way.
I loved serving as your president. There
have been ups and downs, but I’ve felt very
honored and blessed in serving each of you.
I’ve developed some great friendships being
in this chapter and have a great love for
each of you. I’m looking forward to serving
you in other area of this
chapter and passing the
gavel to our new
president, whoever that
may be.
I hope to see you
all at our next chapter
meeting. I’m looking
forward teaching you
another Jamie Mills
Price project, a
snowman.⛄
If you haven’t
signed up to paint, call
Cathy Frazier.
Keep painting and smiling. Most of all,
be happy. See you all soon.

Pro g r am s Hello Ladies,
Well the August workshop went really well and our
visiting teacher from California, Jeanetta Cimo, did an
excellent job teaching her own design, Trick or Treat
Pumpkins. Everyone’s turned out so adorable and we all
had a lot of fun! Thank you again, Jeanetta, for coming to
our chapter and teaching.
In September: Gwen
Palmer will be teaching an
adorable snowman design
by Jamie Mills Price. I
think it’s safe to say, pretty
much all of us love Jamie’s
designs and Gwen does an
awesome job of teaching
them. In fact, if you’ve
been to Gwen’s house you
will see about half of her
paintings are Jamie’s
designs. The price of this
workshop is only$15.00 and the wood can be ordered
from Sheila Hughes for $10.50.
In October: Sheila
Hughes will be teaching a
Sandi Streaker design. A
very cute Chunky Witch
Boot. This project is a must
have to add to your
Halloween decorations.
This paint-in will only cost
$10.00 plus the price of the
wood. This class is very
easy and will be loads of
fun. The wood can be
ordered from Sheila
Hughes.
If you have any questions feel free to give me a call.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Thank you,
Cathy Frazier

Hello Ladies,
It’s that lovely time of year again to pay your chapter
dues.
Please hand me your chapter dues at the next meeting
in September or you can mail them to me.
I do have a form for you all to fill out as I need to
update some of your information.
SDP is offering an early bird incentive for their
national dues. If paid by Aug. 31st, you will receive 3 free e
-patterns.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me
know!

By now many of you have received a call from Dana,
Shayron, or me about running for office next year. These
positions are not tied into your painting abilities or how
long you've belonged to the chapter.
You have all worked or managed a household and
that's all you need for experience. If you decide to run for
treasurer, you need to have a handle on money matters.
You can be a newbie or long-standing chapter member.
We will also need committee chairs. These are all one-
year positions with the option of running for a second
term.
Please consider helping the Chapter in some way. We
cannot run a volunteer organization on the same few
people. It's a great way to get involved and meet lots of
members!

The dates for placing our items in the libraries is
Tues, Sept 18th. We need all the help we can get for this.
The hand painted items should be about 12 -15" tall. If
you bring a flat picture, please submit a stand large
enough to hold it up. Smaller items will need smaller
stands. Also, put a name on your stands.
If you are submitting something that someone else
painted, make sure you put your name on it or it may go
back to the original painter!
You must complete a form required by the libraries
for insurance purposes.
We will remove the displays on Tues, Nov 1st. Both
days we start at 10:30 at Rainbow Library, then move to
the Summerlin Library. Any questions, please call me.
