Hello Chapter Members,

Hope everyone is enduring this early

heat we’ve been having on and off.

Our May business meeting went very

well. We had a small attendance—small but

mighty.

There was a vote to raise our seminar

budget, from $2,000 each year to $3,800,

since we’ve started to have 2 per year again.

Liz has some wonderful teachers coming to

teach us in the next two years. Looking

forward to these seminars. Thanks, Liz, for

all of your hard work!

We also talked briefly that members

need to think about who is willing to step up

and be president for next year. We are

already half way through the year, so I will

be asking for a nominating committee. If

anyone is willing to help me out with this,

please give me a call.

I also will need a few members to help

with the changes of bylaws. We’ve voted to

keep our membership at $15 a year. That

will be one of the bylaws

that will need to be

changed. Any volunteers

are highly welcomed.

We also talked about

our October auction and

what a great fundraiser it

is. Please donate your

time by painting

something for our auction.

I still have wood items if

you would like to paint

one. Or use something you

already have. I just want

to thank each of our

members for all of the

time and effort you put

into our chapter. It’s

because of each and

everyone of our members that this chapter

keeps going.

A big thank you to Pat Gettemeyer for

teaching those bullhorns. Everyone had a

great time!

The next board meeting will be June

1st at Los Prados at 11 a.m. We always eat

lunch first. If anyone would like to come

other than the board, please let me know.

Keep smiling and lots of painting.

Remember, I have a great prize for the one

who paints the most projects (over 50 or

more).

See you all at our next meeting. Lots of

hugs!

Pro g r am s Hello Ladies,

I’m happy to announce that Pat Gettemeyer’s class

turned out to be a huge success! We had a great time and

Pat did a wonderful job of teaching. Thank you again,

Pat, for stepping up!

In June: Shayron Monahan will

be teaching a baby swan design by

Barb Halvorson. If you haven’t taken

an animal class before, this is a good

one to start with. Shayron is a

fantastic animal teacher.

You still have a little time to sign

up for this class. Call me so you can

get your prep instructions. The price

of this workshop is $15.

You will need to provide your own

surface. Shayron has asked that you

bring the following brushes for her class:

• Sable rounds #2 and #3, if you don’t mind fanning

them out. (These are what Shayron learned on.)

• Filbert grass combs or filbert grainers, #1/4 and

#1/8.

Also, Shayron says she used Delta’s Creamcoat

Liberty Blue for the swan, but Blue Harbor is close to the

same color. (She says Liberty Blue is one of her favorite,

all-time colors and she grabs it a lot without thinking.)

If you have any questions about the prep instructions

for Shayron’s baby swan, please contact her.

In July: Sheila Hughes will be teaching White Rose

Radiance, a Maria Mermett TDR design. This is a

beautiful floral. If can be painted on a surface of your

choice, or you can paint it on the surface that Sheila used.

Contact Shiela to order.

Sheila is a beautiful painter. I

can’t wait to see all the different

surfaces you girls pick. The cost of this

workshop is $15.

In August: One of our

wonderful teachers from California,

Jeannetta Cimo, is coming to teach a

trick-or-treat design that Jeannetta

designed herself.

This is a simple and fun project

that will get you in the mood for Halloween. It’s perfect

for beginners and, for you more seasoned painters,

maybe consider doing two at once and give one for a gift.

Don’t miss out on this one girls! It should be

spooktacular!!! The cost of this paint-in is $10. Contact

Sheila to order the wood.

Once again, we had a

wonderful time at our May

chapter meeting. Thanks to

all of you who participated

with your help and

kindness. Let’s do it all

again June 9th.

Hello SSTDP Chapter Members!

The Seminar Committee has

been hard at work to finish up

the details for our upcoming

Shara Reiner Seminar. There are

only a few small details to wrap

up, otherwise we are ready to

“party.”

You will receive cute favors

and names will be drawn for

surprise give aways! It is going to

be a fun weekend! Remember,

lunches and snacks will be

provided each day.

On Friday evening, June 22, all

of you who are attending the seminar are invited to have

dinner together as we take Shara to Outback Steakhouse.

Remember to bring money to pay for your own dinner.

We will take a head count the “day

of.”

At our last meeting we

went over a misprint on the paint

prep colors. The Tomato Spice

listed in the paint list is not

correct. It should read Tomato

Red. This is a house roof color on

the prep instructions. Also, not

listed is Grape Juice. You will

NOT need Grape Juice for the

prep, but add it to your paint list,

especially if you may plan to use

this palette in the future.

Remember, all paints during

seminar will be provided for us

by Deco Art.

I think that’s all for now! See you at Chapter, June 9,

for any important updates!

The Shara Reiner seminar project.

Peggy Simpson took a

fall while on her visit in New

Orleans. She injured her face,

elbow and has a few broken

bones. She is still in New

Orleans and is awaiting news as

to whether or not more surgery

is required. She really wants to

return home in a big way.

Char Davis was thought

to have had a stroke, but

luckily, it was not. Not long

after, she was in an automobile

accident, along with her family,

in her daughter’s vehicle. She

has been out of sorts since then

and just waiting to get over all

the discomfort caused greatly

by the air bag

deployment. Fortunately no

one was seriously injured. But

all were seriously traumatized.

Jan Green had surgery

the week of 5/14.

Please keep these ladies in

your prayers as they continue

in their recovery.

Sun sh in e!

I had so many happy helpers this last meeting, it was

amazing! Let's repeat it in June!

The Holiday committee will meet June 14 at my

house, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Please bring any pieces you are working on. Everyone

is welcome to join the committee.

Any questions? Send/text me a note.
