Imagine for design #1

Idea#1

Our materials are flat felt and shredded cloth

We need 2 units of felt and 1 unit of cloth

The advantages of this idea is that felt is good insulation.

The disadvantages of this idea is a disadvantage is getting a high score on environmental impact.

Imagine for design #1Idea #2

Our materials are shredded foam and flat felt

We need 1 unit of foam and 2 units of felt

The advantages of this idea is an advantage of our idea is that we will have better insulation that we had for the 1st idea

The disadvantages of this idea isa disadvantage is that foam has a high amount of environmental impact

Create for design #1

Our heat score for our solar oven maximum temperature subtracted from the control oven. 56°c -55°c = 1

Our time score is the number of minutes it took to cool down which was 4 minutes

Our total score was 9 points

Our total score for the solar oven is -4

Improve design #1

The total score for our for our first solar oven was

The parts of our solar oven that worked well were our time score worked the best because it took a long time to cool down.

The parts of our solar oven that didn't work all were we didn't have insulators that worked well.

We were going to improve our heat score

We will improve our heat score by putting better insulation.

ReflectionOur improved design did not work because we had a poor insulation. The poor insulation was the foam, it did not keep the heat trapped in the box.

If we could improve again ,we would use the 2 units of foam for the sides and , 1 unit of cloth for the bottom. We would use this because they are both good insulators.
