• The last DoD Fee Policy was issued over six years ago for School Year 04-05

• New School Year 2010-2011 DoD Fee Guidance was issued 29 July 2010

• Key Features:

– Still based on Total Family Income (TFI)

– Adds three new Total Family Income Categories: 7, 8, and 9

– Impacts 42% of Army Garrison Patrons, many of whom are Dual Military Families

– Meets Army AFAP Issue request to Increase Total Family Income Categories

– Lowers the start of CAT 2 - CAT 6, allowing some Army Families to move to the

next lowest TFI Category

– Expands CAT 1 range, allowing more Families to qualify for the lowest fee

• SY10-11 Army Child & Youth Fee Policy will go into effect at all Army

installations on 1 Oct 2010

• Army Standard 15% Multiple Child Reduction (MCR) in place for 2nd & additional

• CAT 1 increase ($196 to $228) is spread over three year period

• Army Family Covenant Fee Reductions continue:

– 20% off full/part day programs for Families of Deployed Personnel

– $2.00/hour for Hourly Care after 16 hours of free respite child care

• New SAS Hourly Options for occasional users:

– Drop in @ $4.00 / hr limited to 5 hours per week

– 4 free Open Recreation hours / month
