PRAYER OF THE DAY: Holy God you have called this church to be serving, welcoming, accepting, joyful, and grace filled. Strengthen us in our welcoming, through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Amen SCRIPTURE READING: Romans 15:7-13 7 Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. 8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised on behalf of the truth of God in order that he might confirm the promises given to the patriarchs, 9 and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, “Therefore I will confess you among the Gentiles, and sing praises to your name”; 10 and again he says, “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people”; 11 and again,

TIME OF PRAYER AND CONTEMPLATION CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS:

Blessed be the holy Trinity, ☩ one God, who forgives all our sin and meets us with the assurance of forgiveness. Amen. God of all mercy and consolation, come to the help of your people, turning us from our sin to live for you alone. As a community gathered together, O God, we confess our sin:

Most merciful God, we confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We put ourselves before others in ways great and small. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

God, who is rich in mercy, loved us even when we were dead in sin, and made us alive together

with Christ. By grace you have been saved. In the name of ☩ Jesus Christ, your sins are

forgiven. Almighty God strengthen you with power through the Holy Spirit, that Christ may live in your hearts through faith. Amen. With the promise of God’s grace fresh on our hearts let us pray and share prayers of thanksgiving and prayer concerns with one another now.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please pray for the communities that lie in the paths of wildfires in the western United States. May God's

healing presence give them peace and hope in their time of need. Pray that God will deliver comfort to

those who mourn and strength to those working diligently to contain the fires and care for affected

communities.
