Mission Statement

Our church is a worshipping, Catholic community with many ministries, fellowships, and discipleship groups. We are members of the Body of Christ, drawn together and renewed by the Holy Spirit, nurtured by the Sacraments and guided by the word of God toward the full stature of Jesus Christ. Called to be good stewards, graced by God, we serve one another, using our differing gifts with joyful hearts, as we reach out to our neighbors, inviting them to share in the love of God, Faith in Jesus Christ and the experience and certain hope of life in the Holy Spirit.

The first two readings today proclaim that to be a people of faith means to hear the word of God and to observe God’s commandments. The Lord provides his people with many blessings, and asks that they remain faithful to the Covenant relationship established from of old. In today’s Gospel, Jesus has an encounter with the Pharisees, who measure fidelity to the Covenant through external gestures, instead of through a radical change of heart from within. The Pharisees criticize the disciples of Jesus, and, as a result, the work of the Lord’s ministry. Jesus calls us to live our faith from the depths of our being, for those who hear the word cannot ignore it. The same call can be found in the Second Reading from Saint James. As we hear God’s word daily in our communities, let us ask ourselves: How can we best live our faith authentically? How

do we avoid the temptation to merely “go through the motions” of our faith? Can we renew our hearts so that our service to others reflects a joyful and transparent life in the New Evangelization?

5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Do you love all aspects of your catholic faith? Would you like to learn more about how to live out the Lord’s Prayer, specifically, “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven,” and to unite yourself more deeply with the Divine life? If you answered, “Yes,” to these two questions, then come join in our monthly meetings to share in the writings about how to live in the Divine Will written by Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta. The meetings will take place on the first Fridays of the month from 5:00-6:30pm beginning Sept. 7th. For more information, contact Debbie Bygland at [email protected] or Lola at 951-517-8223.

The parish office will be closed on Monday, September 3rd in observance of Labor Day!

Monsignor Tom, Father Ken, and the office staff wish you a happy Labor Day! "Good and Gracious God, You created human beings in Your image and likeness and gave us dominion over creation to be stewards of the land and co-creators of Your Kingdom. Jesus, You became one of us and labored as a carpenter. You ask all people whatever our state of life to follow you faithfully. Holy Spirit, bless all workers this Labor Day. May all our actions be animated by Your love, as we do all things for the glory of God. Amen.

You may have a friend or family member who has never been baptized, or baptized in another Christian faith. Has an acquaintance or coworker have asked you questions about the Catholic Church? Someone may indicate to you they are searching for a sense of community, or desire to hear more of the Good News of Jesus, the Gospel. They are all cordially invited to inquire about the Catholic Christian Faith by attending an open information meeting taking place every Wednesday at 7:00pm in room “A.” This is their opportunity to ask questions about “things Catholic” such as what do Catholics believe and what do Catholics do? And if you or someone you know was baptized Catholic as infants, but never received the Sacraments of First Communion or Confirmation, RCIA can offer you the preparation needed to completing your Sacraments.
