GUIDELINES FOR M.TECH SEMINAR

1. The selected topic for the seminar should be on latest research and on latest technology.

2. For literature survey, the students must refer international / IEEE Journal and put them as reference in the seminar copy submitted.

3. Once the topic for seminar is decided by the student, if should be approved by the supervisor.

4. On approval of the seminar topic by the supervisor, the applicant must submit the abstract to the M.Tech. Co-ordinator.

5. It is to be ensured by the students that the diagrams and contents are not directly copied from the Internet/ Journal / Books.

6. Seminar report format report should be as per the Performa given in M.Tech- Lab PC No.1 (Communication Lab) and the report should be as per guidelines of R.T.U. .The guidelines are available on RTU site.

7. Seminar report must contain at least 50 Pages.

8. The main contents in the seminar report should be typed in Times New Roman 12 font and page no. should be numbered from Abstract as 1, 2, 3……… Spacing between consecutive lines should be 1.5. Separate successive paragraphs by 9 points. Margins of each page should be preferably 1.25 inch left side, 0.75 inch right hand side, and one inch top and 1.5 inch bottom with page no. at bottom margin of one inch. For each chapter at top right corner chapter no. should be written: for example; for chapter 1, it should be Chapter - 1 (Font 12, Times New Roman). Title of the chapter should be typed in Font 14 (All Capital) and should be centered. Literature references will be arranged in the order in which they are referred in the seminar. Reference no. will be put in square brackets within the text in the order in which they are cited. Preferably, the seminar report should be organized as under:

i) Contents (Pg no. should be numbered in Roman as i, ii, iii distinct to that of starting from Abstract).

ii) Abstract iii) Introduction (Chapter - 1, Essential, Detailing Scope of work with Objectives) iv) Literature survey (Chapter - 2, Essential)

v) Chapters describing the Work (Tables should be given the number based on their chapters; for example; for chapter 2 they should be Table 2.1, 2.2 and so on. They should be written as per IEEE Syntax as under:

9. The report duly bound must be got checked from the guide before the presentation.

10. After presentation and corrections, each student will make “four sets” duly corrected for the presentation in presence of DRC and the external examiner.

11. Presentation should be in PPT form and total message should be covered in “twenty minutes” of presentation.

12. If the report is not as per the laid down procedures or it is found that the matter is copied, DRC will have the power to reject the same and the students will have to rework for the presentation and report preparation.
