Semi-Permanent Sydney 2015 – Analysis.

The use of the white titling in the first sequence contrasts with the dark background, just presenting the name of the film, with uniquely positioned numbers to represent the year it was made. This automatically sets the scene that this film will be mysterious/action based or of a darker nature.

As the photographers titling is presented as the door is opening it denotes to the audience that the photographer is opening the door to the rest of the film (this being the doors opening of what appears will be space). Keeping the audience intrigued.

As the film continues, the background music begins to get more intense, along with a wider picture of what may happen. Throughout the film introduction, they have kept the continuity of the white titling, giving it a professional image, however more a brighter has now been added to the background, which may mean that the astronaut in white (which may have connotations of his innocence) is going to experience something extraordinary. (shown in the picture below as the clip carry's on unravelling)

The use of the lighting through the gap, portrays to the audience that there is something beyond the whole. Due to the titling being set with more than just one name, it shows that the introduction is coming to an end and the rest of the story is about to take place. This story may be life beyond the gap, but the quirky introduction gives lots of thought provoking images, increasing the likelihood of viewers.

I specifically like the ending of this film titling introduction, as it has the continuity of the first opening title to end it (open it to the rest of the film), just after the astronaut takes his helmet off, which is unusual for an astronaut to do, provoking a different but suspicious thought onto the rest of the film. Enticing the audience.
