How The FRED™ Self-Cleaning System WorksThe FRED™ self-cleaning dust collection system eliminates the need for costly maintenance and frequent filter changes. The patented ICS (Injection Cleaning System) releases shop air through a rotating jet that is driven up and down by a screw inside the filter cartridge. The cleaning system is automatically activated each time the unit is turned off. Compressed air is blown through the filter in the reverse direction thus dislodging dust from the filter. During the cleaning cycle the dislodged particulate falls through a sliding door and collected in a dust drawer or hopper. Once the cleaning cycle is completed, the sliding door closes, thereby preventing re-entrapment of particulate.
