Besides in Jesus Christ, where do you look for your identity?

There was a kingdom where war raged with all its danger. The king sent his two infant children in the care of a guardian to a foreign land. There the guardian died suddenly. The children were left without identity, orphans who did not know they were a prince and princess with claim to a kingdom.This story represent this world where the civil war of sin rages on. My brothers and sisters in Christ, there is an identity in heaven that will be worth for us for all eternity, which we must live from now on. Our faith identifies us as adopted sons and daughters of God called to be saints. During our life we often lose or forget about our spiritual heritage. Let us reflect and recover our Christian identity fully. Sin has invaded the human mind so much that many do not want to accept who they are or where they came from. There is nothing worse than living trying to be someone you are not. That is one of the things that the enemy wants most in our life that we do not think about our identity in Jesus Christ. To live taking an identity that is not ours, acting like someone that does not represent Christ causes frustration, disappointment, and inevitable failure. God was the one who made the decision to take us as His children. Therefore a good sense of identity can only be based on God’s commands and what He expects of us, because, in short, we were created in his image. Saint Paul remind us of our identity when he said “you are children, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.” We are living in times where we need to help others, especially the young, to live their iden-tity, to follow their aspirations to noble deeds. To do it we have first to reform ourselves learning and living our identity as children of God. The present time presents us with a serious reality of human life, the presence of sin. The right identity as beloved children of God, helps us avoid temptation and therefore overcome sin. When we are well defined in who we are for God, there is no sin that will make us worship the devil, there will be no anguish or sadness that will make us distrust God’s love. Let us take care of the identity that God has given us. Let us try to let nothing and no one steal our true identity. Let us not forget that today more than ever God needs his children to reflect Christ in all the ways of life.

I see many people are getting tired of being lock downed at home. People are ready to go back to work or at least to

leave their homes and somehow go back to normal. I am no one to tell you but my

advice is that it is better that you wait until the pandemic is really over because other wise you will suffer the con-sequences and it will not be a pretty picture. I know the children want to be out also but please for your own sake take it easy because we do not want to lose anyone to the corona virus, many people have already died and we are tired of seeing so many people going to eternity. Take

advantage of the fact that you are able to study at home and learn perhaps more since the teachers, I think, have more time to give you. Just think how blessed you are that in the midst of this crisis you continue to learn and grow in knowledge and in wisdom. Remember to take care of yourselves my little friends. It is important that you do not go outside if you don’t need to. And if you go make sure you wear your mask and gloves if you have to. I don’t want to lose my little friends and I don’t want any pain for your parents. Well, take care of yourselves and enjoy your time at home with your family. Ciao, woof, woof.

WORLD DAY PRAYER FOR VOCATIONSOn this Fourth Sunday of Easter the Church asks her chil-dren to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. It is a wonderful opportunity to be grateful to Al-mighty God for all the priests and sisters that have served us in life and to continue to pray that the Lord will touch the hearts of young people to respond to the call from Je-sus the Good Shepherd who wants people to continue his mission of bringing the Gospel to others and the celebra-tion of the Eucharist. Let us pray that many young men will respond to the call to become priests and many others to consecrated life in the Church where they can serve us.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTERIt is called Good Shepherd Sunday because the Church proclaims the gospel story of the Good Shepherd this Sunday. Jesus is the Shepherd that leads us to everlasting life and who guides us through this terrible crisis. It’s been the tradition of the Church that we pray in a special way for our priests who are the shepherds of our Church lead-ing us to Christ the Good Shepherd. Let us pray for them that God will make them Holy priests and good Shep-herds after the very heart of Jesus himself. Pray for the priest who baptized you, gave you Holy Communion, has absolved you many times from your sins, who officiated at your wedding and who entrusted your loved ones to God at the end of their journey. They need of our prayers and our spiritual support too. Pray for our shepherds!

THE CORONA VIRUS A NEW WAY OF LIVINGWe all tend to agree that this corona virus has changed us drastically. It is impossible to go back to life as before. We need to do things differently and new others like keeping good hygiene, social distance and wearing a mask and gloves especially when we are out. We will take mea-sures when we get the ok to return to Mass. We might have to register or get a number because not everyone can be in church at once and we must have control of the number of people at Mass.The church will have to be disinfected every week, we will have to allow people to come through only one door so we can control the number and many other things that we might have to do in order to keep safe. So we need to be ready for that, not get upset or think that we are going too far but the true remedy here is social distancing and protecting our-selves. Please don’t panic but we must wait and see what the State will tell us in regards to returning to the church for Mass. What we truly need to do is to trust the Lord!

MONTH OF MAY – MONTH OF MARYThe month of May is a very special time because first of all we dedicate it to our Blessed Mother and secondly we honor the person we most love in life ‘our mother.’ During the month of Mary it is good for us to dedicate time to her as our Mother that she is by praying the ro-sary. I invite you to gather your family every day espe-cially during this crisis and pray the Holy Rosary. Of course you can pray by yourself but it would be good to get your family to do it together. Join us at 6 pm when we honor Jesus and Mary in our holy hour. You can join us through Facebook St Margaret Church or through www.saintmargaret.live Since we cannot come to church at this time I want to invite our parishioners that for this month you build a nice altar in honor of our Blessed Mother at home. Perhaps the image or statute of our Lady, some flowers and a candle and that will be a great tribute to our lady. During the Mass this Sunday we will crown our Blessed Mother in Church at 10:00 am and at 12:00 noon. Había un reino donde la guerra se desataba con todo su peligro. El rey envió a sus dos hijos pequeños al cuidado de un tutor a una tierra extranjera. Allí el guardián murió de repente. Los niños quedaron sin identidad, huérfanos, y no sabían que eran un príncipe y una princesa con derecho a un reino. Esta historia representa este mundo donde la guerra civil del pecado continúa. Mis herma-nos y hermanas en Cristo, hay una identidad en el cielo que nos valdrá para toda la eternidad, identidad que debemos vivir desde ahora. Nuestra fe nos identifica como hijos e hijas adoptados de Dios llamados a ser santos. Durante nuestra vida, a menudo perdemos u olvidamos nuestra herencia espiritual. Reflexionemos y recuperemos plenamente nuestra identidad cristiana. En nuestro mundo, el pecado ha invadido tanto la mente humana, que muchos no quieren aceptar quiénes son ni de dónde vienen. No hay nada peor que vivir tratando de ser alguien que no eres. Esa es una de las cosas que el enemigo más quiere en nuestra vida, que no pensemos en nuestra identidad en Jesucristo. Vivir tomando una identidad que no es la nuestra, actuar como alguien que no representa a Cristo causa frustración, desilusión e inevitablemente fracaso. Dios fue quien tomó la decisión de hacernos hijos amados. Por lo tanto, un buen sentido de identidad solo puede basarse en los mandamientos de Dios y lo que Él espera de nosotros, porque, en resumen, fuimos creados por Él y en su imagen. San Pablo nos recuerda nuestra iden-tidad cuando dijo “la prueba de que sois hijos es que Dios ha enviado a nuestros corazones el Espíritu de su Hijo que clama: ¡Abbá, Padre! De modo que ya no eres esclavo, sino hijo; y si hijo, también heredero por voluntad de Dios” (Gal 4:6). Estamos viviendo en tiempos en los que necesitamos ayudar a otros, especialmente a los jóvenes, a vivir su identidad, a seguir sus aspiraciones buenas y nobles. Para hacerlo, primero te-nemos que reformarnos nosotros mismos aprendiendo y viviendo nuestra identidad como hijos de Dios. Nuestro tiempo actual nos presenta una realidad seria de la vida humana, la presencia del pecado. Reconocer una identidad correcta como un hijo amado de Dios, nos ayudara a evitar las tentaciones y por lo tanto vencer el pecado. Cuando somos personas bien definidas en quiénes-somos para Dios, no habrá pecado que nos haga adorar al diablo, no habrá angustia o tristeza que nos haga desconfiar del amor de Dios. Cuiden la identidad que Dios les ha dado. No permitan que nada ni nadie robe su verdade-ra identidad. No olvidemos que hoy más que nunca Dios necesita que sus hijos reflejen a Cristo en todas las formas de la vida.

Memorias de TonyVeo a muchos cansados de estar ence-rrados en casa. La gente se está prepa-rando para regresar al trabajo o por lo

menos a salir de sus casas y de alguna manera volver a la normalidad. No soy quién

para decirles nada, pero mi consejo es que lo mejor es esperar hasta que la pandemia verdaderamente pase, de lo contrario sufrirás las consecuencias y no será lindo el panorama. Sé que los niños quie-ren salir pero por tu bien no los saques porque no queremos perder más vidas en manos del coronavi-rus, pues muchos han fallecido y ya estamos cansa-

dos de ver a tantos irse a la eternidad. Aprovecha el tiempo para estudiar en casa y aprender más, ya que tus maestros tienen más tiempo que darte ahora. Piensa en lo bendecido que eres, porque en medio de la crisis sigues aprendiendo y creciendo en cono-cimiento y sabiduría. Recuerda amiguito de cuidarte muy bien. Es importante que no salgas si no tienes que hacerlo y si lo haces, que tengas todas las pre-cauciones, uses mascarilla o tapabocas y guantes. No quiero perder más amiguitos y no quiero que sus papás sientan dolor. Bueno, cuídate mucho y disfruta del tiempo en casa y en familia. Chao, guau, guau.

LA PALABRA DE DIOS PARA EL PRÓXIMO DOMINGO

RECIBIMOS ALIMENTOSSeguimos recibiendo alimentos no perecederos los martes y jueves de 10 a 12 afuera del basement de la iglesia. Se los damos al Banco de alimentos Inter-faith Food Pantry donde llama el que necesite ayuda.

DÍA MUNDIAL DE ORACIÓN POR LAS VOCACIONESEste domingo la Iglesia pide a sus hijos a rezar por un aumento de las vocaciones al sacerdocio y la vida re-ligiosa. Es una maravillosa oportunidad para estar agra-decidos con Dios todopoderoso por los sacerdotes y re-ligiosas que nos han servido y también oremos para que el Señor toque los corazones de los jóvenes para que re-spondan al llamado de Jesús el buen pastor, quien quiere que el pueblo continúe su misión de llevar el mensaje del Evangelio a otros y la celebración de la eucaristía. Oremos para que muchos jóvenes respondan al llama-do del sacerdocio y muchas otras al llamado de la vida consagrada donde pueden servirnos a todos nosotros.

MES DE MAYO – MES DE MARÍAEl mes de María es un tiempo muy especial porque, primero lo dedicamos a nuestra Madre santísima, segun-do honramos a la persona a quien más amamos en la vida: a nuestra madre. Durante el mes de María es bue-no que le dediquemos tiempo ya que es nuestra madre y lo hagamos rezando el rosario. Te invito para que te reúnas en familia todos los días y especialmente en este tiempo de crisis y reces el santo rosario. Puedes hacerlo por tu cuenta pero sería mejor en familia. Sintonízanos a las 6 pm cuando honraremos a María en nuestra hora santa. Podrás vernos en Facebook St Margaret Church o en www.saintmargaret.live Ya que no podemos reunirnos en la iglesia quiero invitar a todos los parroquianos para que durante este mes preparen un altar en casa en honor a nuestra Madre santísima quizá con la imagen o estatua de nuestra Madre santísima, unas flores y una vela serán un gran tributo para ella. Durante la Misa de este do-mingo a las 10 am y 12 pm haremos la coronación de María. CUARTO DOMINGO DE PASCUAEs el domingo del buen pastor porque este domingo proc-lamamos el evangelio del buen pastor. Jesús es el pastor que nos guía a la vida eterna y por esta terrible crisis. Ha sido tradición de la iglesia que este domingo oremos de manera especial por los sacerdotes que son los pas-tores y nos guían a Cristo el buen pastor. Oremos por ellos para que Dios los haga sacerdotes santos y buenos pastores bajo el ejemplo del corazón del mismo Jesús. Reza por el sacerdote que te bautizó, que te dio tu Prim-era comunión, el que te ha absuelto tantas veces de tus pecados, el que ofició tu matrimonio y encomendó a tu ser querido a Dios cuando murió y terminó su peregri-nar en la tierra. Ellos necesitan de nuestras oraciones y apoyo espiritual también. ¡Reza por nuestros pastores!.

EL CORONAVIRUS: NUEVA FORMA DE VIDATodos estamos de acuerdo en que el coronavirus ha cam-biado nuestra vida drásticamente. Es imposible regresar a la vida que tuvimos antes. Debemos hacer las cosas dife-rentes y antes no apreciamos la buena higiene, ni manten-er distancia social, ni sabíamos qué era usar mascarilla o tapabocas ni guantes cuando salimos de casa. Habrá que tomar medidas en la iglesia cuando nos permitan volver a Misa. A lo mejor habrá que dar números porque no po-drán estar todos a la misma hora. Habrá que desinfectar el templo semanalmente, podrán entrar solo por 1 puerta designada y hacer muchas cosas más para mantenernos a salvo del virus. Debemos prepararnos para esto, así que te enojes ni molestes, ni digas que estamos exagerando, más bien ten paciencia, pues sabemos que el remedio es distancia social y protegernos. No te angusties, hay que esperar a ver qué dicen el estado sobre el regreso a la iglesia. En verdad ¡necesitamos confiar en el Señor!.
