Hurling/CamogieThe Roinn D Hurling final took place in Nowlan Park on Wednesday June 18th 2014. Tullaroan team had a great win against Johnstown.

The Roinn D Camogie Final between Tullaroan and Conahy took place in Nowlan Park on Saturday June 14th 2014. Tullaroan had a great win.

Other GAA infoThe Girls Football team reached the quarter final of Roinn B in 2013.But they were beaten by Ballyhale Shamrocks.

New JerseysA local G.A.A. enthusiast, Tony Doyle,very kindly donated to usa set of new jerseys in the Tullaroan colours.

Holy CommunionEvery year in Tullaroan the second class receive their First Holy Communion.

Confirmation28 children from 4th, 5th and 6th classes were confirmed by Bishop Freeman, in the Church of the Assumption, on Sunday February 16th 2014.

EnglishOn Tuesday 6th May, Kilkenny author Martin Brennan visited the senior classes to talk to the children aboutthe process of storywriting.

Easons Spelling Bee On April 1st, 2014, the County Finals of the Spelling Bee took place at St. Canices Primary School, Kilkenny . Sam Coughlan was selected to represent Scoil Ruadhin.

IrishEvery week the teachers of Scoil Ruadhin choose two children who have been speaking the most Irish (this encourages children to speak Irish). They are Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine.

L GlasIn Tullaroan NS we had a L Glas on the 14th of March to celebrate St . Patricks Day.

School ToursEvery Year the senior and junior classes go on a school tour to various places.

MathsAll the classes take part in a Maths trail around the school grounds once a year in groups of four . (This is a test of what the children have learnt in the year so far)

CharityEileen, our S.N.A., and some of the older children knitted caps for premature babies in St. Lukes hospital, Kilkenny .They also knitted jumpers for new-born needy children in Africa.

Credit Union QuizTwo teams from Scoil Ruadhin took part in St. Canices Credit Union Quiz, which was held in Hotel Kilkenny on Monday 6th of February.

U-12 teamU-14 TeamTimesEveryday in Tullaroan NS all children have to be in school before 9:30.Junior and Senior Infants leave school at 2:10 pm. Every other class leaves the school at 3:10 pm.TransportMost of the children inTullaroan NS are taken home by their parents/guardians but there are two buses going to and from school every day .Green FlagIn 2012 Scoil Ruadhin entered the Green Flag Programme. In 2013 we were successful.It took a lot of hard work and a lot of changes but we got the Green Flag in the end.We now have Recycling bins and a compost bin.

ScienceOnce a year the senior classes do science experiments for all the younger classes.

Art ExhibitionAn Art Exhibition was held in the school on Thursday April 10th.The children drew and painted pictures for everyone to see.

AwardsTommy Walsh came to the school on Tuesday 25th June and presented children with their medals from the Hurling, Camogie and Football Leagues.
