• Philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.• Set up to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program• Flagship program of Bharti Foundation.• It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.• Goal to establish 500 Primary and 50 Senior Schools reaching out to over 200,000 students

• Present Operational Status• Number of Schools Operational:250• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & West Bengal • Number of Students Enrolled: Over 36,000

About the Community

Geographical Location:

•Gomla village is situated near Bhojawas 18 K.M. in east from

district Mohindergarh.

•Sandy soil.Socio- Economic Background:

• Major casts are : Ahir, Chamar, Kumhar,etc.

• Dominating castes : Ahir

•Main source of earning is agriculture, animal husbandry, labor,

Govt.service etc.

• Population : 2499, Literacy Rate: 58% and Sex Ratio:843

We ‘Feel’:

We observe that the community members are not aware about health and hygiene. There are many heap of wastage in the streets . Streets are not clean and clear as a result people have to suffer to cross the path. Diseases are spreading due to the water stored in pools.

We ‘Imagined’

We imagine that our village should green and clean. All the members should aware about health and hygiene. All member should use dust bean at home as well as in community. The mentor teacher planned and share the following activities: •Rally•Demo work•Counseling•Door to door visit•Slogan on walls

We ‘Did’

Students of Satya Bharti School took initiative to clean the village. They took the sarpanchwith them and started to work.

Community member started to work when they saw that small children working for the betterment of village

A water storage tank was not in use for some time, we discussed with community and it was replaced in common dustbin .

We ‘Did’

Impact on Community:

Community members realized t their responsibilities or accountability to maintain the health and hygiene in the village. All the community with sarpanch praised the initiative of the students of Satya Bharti School.

Impact on “Us”

•Students felt leadership quality .•Students start initiating on “awareness of People.”•Community members praised the students.

The Road Ahead…..(in the next 3 months)

•Regular follow up for the program.

•Slogan writing on common places of the village.

•Two persons were assigned duty by panchyat to keep the drains clean.•Our school will be role modal for health & hygiene for community.
