SAP Technical Housekeeping jobs

The 'Housekeeping_jobs_detail' tab explains the scheduling details for the jobs.

The jobs listed here are the main housekeeping jobs that are either already running or should be scheduled in the BP SAP systems.

The 'ProdSys_Matrix' lists all the housekeeping jobs and shows which jobs need to be scheduled in each Production SAP instance. They are marked with an 'S' in the column for each Production system. Only schedule the jobs marked 'S' in that SIDs column

The jobs marked in red and with a 'D' in the instance column should be deleted from the SAP system, if they are defined, as these should not be run

The actual execution time hasn't been listed as this can vary per instance depending on where the user population is located. However housekeeping jobs should normally be scheduled during quiet periods if possible (usually overnight) . Stagger the schedule so that the job don't all run together.

If a job is already scheduled then the variant and scheduling details need to be checked to ensure it is running with the correct parameter settings and for the correct frequency. If the job is already scheduled with a specific parameter set/requirement for that instance then the job can be left unchanged

To check if a job is already running but with a different job name it can be listed in transaction SM37 using the 'ABAP program name' under 'step details' on the job selection details screen.

Jobs that are already scheduled but with different jobnames than those listed here should be rescheduled with the new jobname (from this spreadsheet) so we standardise across BP SAP instances. Where possible the SAP standard jobnames have been used. In addition the parameter values and execution frequency should be checked.

Use Dynamic Date parameter calculation in variants that have moving dates e.g. the date 6 month ago. That way the variants will not have to be constantly updated as the date changes

Reorganizes Jobs. Create variant 'ZSAP001' and set the parameters values the same as 'SAP&001' except change all 'older than days' to 30 (in releases < 700 the field is 'More than (days)'. In 4.6c create variant ZSAP001 - set all 'More than (days)' to 30 and select 'Forced Mode'

Previously used RSPO0041. Create variant 'ZSTDVAR' and set the parameter values the same as STDVAR except set '... older than days' to 30 and tick the selection box at the top of the first four sections (to make the 'older than...' selection active).
