NFe Lessons Learned What solution should I use?

SAP - Clients under pressure to implement an NFe solution Brazil has numerous suppliers that offer a 3 rd party NFe solution:

- 3rd Party software vendors- Outsourcing Service providers

Weve experienced significant issues with interfaces via 3rd party solutions, due to theintensive nature of integration maintenance, and constantly changing regulations.

Conclusion : Since 2008, Politec has aligned ourselves exclusively to SAPs NFe solution.

Stability of the solution Less issues on Projects

Ability to re-use significant components of previous project resources

Recommendations for SAP NFe Projects

- Select an experienced partner , leverage an experienced team and existing templates.Make sure the partner is prepared and capable to support your localization downstream .

- Have your infrastructure prepared .

- Ensure your local resources (Brazil) have the bandwidth, especially in the Financedepartment. They will assist with the design, validation and testing of the solution. (Lack of

availability is typically responsible for 80% of the delays)- When implementing NFe in parallel to a Brazil rollout , ensure you have a dedicated NFe

team to work with the core ERP team, or implement NFe sequentially .

- Invest the time Blueprinting the solution . Leverage templates from other projects, andgain your Finance stakeholders sign-off, recognizing every industry and company is unique .

- Save money on the appropriate areas, such as Basis . A flexible partner can coach yourteam members on some of the technical areas, but not on the core business areas, such as,Tax configuration in SD and MM.

Recommendations for SAP NFe Projects

- Gain access to SAP PI Expertise (2) NFe Monitors, 1 in ERP and 1 in PI. SAP PI expertise needed to ensure messaging is implemented correctly . Some information can onlybe seen in PI.

- Invest in Project Management . Despite being short-duration projects, a lot of coordinationwith global COEs has to occur from BOTH a technical and functional perspective. Work with a proven partner that understands how to work with your global team.

- Master Data Quality Customers, Vendors and Materials. The government will recalculate taxes and validate accuracy of the provided information (e.g., Phone numbers, FiscalLocations).

- Certification of the transaction by local agencies tends to take time. Early planning is recommended.

- Develop a contingency plan if any issues in the communication with the government arise.This is not only a go-live requirement, but a necessity for any time after the implementation .

- Invest in a Discovery Session with your partner to lay out the infrastructure, resource,business and data requirements for the project.
