    PARISH NEWS 7 t h S u n d a y o f E a s t e r

Living Rosary 2013 Another great day of Prayer and fun for over almost 70 parishioners and guests Sunday afternoon at Santa Catalina Prayer Garden. A large set of

Rosaries (made by Carol Padillas, 6, 7, and 8th grade classes) were used for the first time. Prayers were led by Fr. Larry Sanders. Following the Rosary, an ice cream social was enjoyed by all.

2 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We are called to serve one another.

    Now, heres your chance.

St. Vincent De Paul of Santa Catalina Parish needs two volunteers for their Food Distri-bution Program.

Volunteer 1: Driver to pick up bakery goods one day/week from the Frys Store, at La Canada & Lambert, Oro Valley. Deliver to the Food Bank at Catalina Community Services, 3535 E. Hawser St., Catalina, AZ 85739.

Volunteer 2: Back Up Driver to be available for an occasional pick up when a regular driver is not available.

This is a wonderful opportunity to serve our neighbors in need and help in doing Gods work.

Last Pancake Breakfast Before the Summer Break

Join the Knights on Sunday, May 19 in the Parish Hall for a delicious breakfast. This will be the last one before they break for the summer months. You have a choice between pancakes or burritos, each plate in-cludes coffee, tea, or juice. All for only $7 per plate. If you havent had a Knights breakfast dont miss this last chance, otherwise you will have to wait until September!

Market on the Move MOM will be holding their last food market this month on Saturday, May 25 from 7am to 10am. This earlier start time will help keep the fresh produce out of the warm temperatures of the late morning. Dont miss out on this great opportunity to get 60 lbs. of farm fresh veggies for your $10 do-nation. Pull out the grill, invite family and friends, and enjoy grilled vegetables this weekend!

Quilt Raffle Winner Drawn at Cinco de Mayo Celebration The lucky person who won our recent raffle is Linda Bergenheier. Father Larry randomly selected her name from the over 600 tickets sold. The raffle generated $681, which included direct donations. Thanks to all who supported the ministry by purchasing tickets, selling tickets, and of course, Carol Nigl, who donated the beautiful quilt. Funds generated will purchase yarn and supplies for the ministry. We are already thinking of what to make for next years raffle. Prayer Shawls are available upon request at no charge, full of prayers for the one who receives them. Call 825-9611 for more information.

Contemplative Desert Retreat Frs. Coury, Wiest, and May are offering a Five Day Contemplative Retreat, May 15-19, at the Redemptorist Renewal Center. They will guide the participants through the contemplative practices of Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina, and Image Medita-tion. This is an opportunity to enter more deeply into the mystery of God and you! There is more information in the church lobby, or call 744-3400.

  • F.Y.I. The Social Awareness Ministry

meeting for June ONLY is rescheduled for Thursday, June 13.

The Cinco de Mayo committee would like to thank every-one who attended the celebration last weekend. With every-one's support, this event was a huge success.

Also, a big thank you to all the volunteers; the cooks, those who set up and cleaned up, and everyone who gave time to work at the various booths. Thanks to Bob Ley, who set up the electricity, to Bernie Lee for his help with promotion and advertising, to the Knights of Columbus, and a sincere thank you to Steve Chavez, who assisted with the planning and execution of this event from the very beginning to the very end.

    Muchas gracia a todos.
