PRAYER OF THE HEART MEDITATION WORKSHOPS

You are invited to join Parish Council Member and Meditation Teacher, Maria Baltazzi, as she continues to lead group sessions on an inward journey, using the Prayer of the Heart. Discover how contemplative prayer meditation can benefit both you and the world around you. The Prayer of the Heart is based on the Jesus Prayer. We begin with a short discussion on how to cultivate happier, more spiritual lives. Then followed by a guided meditation.

These sessions are for anyone interested in meditation; all levels are welcomed. You are encouraged to bring friends and family members.

Next Session’s Topic: How Forgiving Creates Miracles, Tuesday, May 30

*Note, this will be the last evening session until the Fall. I will be doing a retreat in either July or August, date TBD.

Location: Huffington Center Saint Sophia Cathedral, Maria Maniatakos Room

Time: 7:30 pm – 9 pm

Cost: None, this is Maria’s Community Gift

Recap May 16th Session: Living Life On Purpose

One. When you live life on purpose, you are clear about your

beliefs and values.

Two. When you live life on purpose, you set priorities each day.

How you spend your days is how you spend your life.

Three. When you live life on purpose, you follow your passion

versus someone else’s.

Four. When you live life on purpose, you have balance. You spend the right amount of time at work and play. Relationships are important and cultivated as such.

Five. When you live life on purpose, you feel content. You relish just as much in the small joys as the big ones.

Six. When you live life on purpose, you are out making a difference; be it to one person or a cause.

Seven. When you live life on purpose, you live in the moment. You know how important they all are to your happiness.

Eight. When you live life on purpose, you meditate and pray. Your inner world is the cherished world of the divine that resides within you.

Bible Quote

O Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace!

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is discord, harmony;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light, and

Where there is sorrow, joy.

Oh Divine Master, grant that I may not be

so much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
