2 Welcome to St. Margaret Mary Parish
Easter Joy! Although the stores and our cities have been filled with
Cadbury eggs, bunnies, baskets, and chocolates for a month
already, only now do we Christians come to the tomb’s
empty hollow which leads us to conclude ‘He is risen, Alle-
luia, Alleluia!’ Yes, we do this annual proclamation of
Christ’s resurrection because we are wrapped and renewed
in the glorious life of God each Lenten season which offers
visions of new life in the form of cascading moments of
grace upon grace, year after year, right up to this very Sun-
day!
Now behind us is the groundhog, the deep, dark days of
winter, the snowy, icy streets as we peer out our windows
counting robins, delighting in our hard fought tulips, and
watching trees bud and pop faster than we can keep track.
What are your memories of Easters passed? I think of new
shoes, longer days, family dinners, and the ease which Wis-
consin warmer weather ushers in. I see myself polishing my
shoes, preparations nearly complete for first holy commun-
ion, and the necessary hunt for Easter baskets carefully
placed the night before.
As Catholics, we also remember that first Holy Week which
leads up to Easter, the days before of Christ’s Last Supper,
the Cross, and his short lived burial. Nothing can stand in
the way of God’s Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead.
And so we forge ahead like those first disciples at the empty
tomb, and those on the road, and at the sea shore—
enlivened and enlightened by the blessed assurance and
echo of the angels’ declaration that he is not among the
dead. He lives!
And so in Him, we live and move and have our very being.
And as people of his way now, we strive to find the hope,
promise, and difference Jesus Christ can make in a world
still waiting to emerge from the deep, the darkness, the
clouds of unknowing. Christ can be our life, now and eter-
nally—indeed as Easter people, we believe we are better
together, strengthened by his abiding presence. Alleluia is
our song for 50 days.
On behalf of Father Gary, Deacon Frank, and all the clergy
who have unstintingly served St. Margaret Mary parish
these past 8 months, as well as the parish and school staff
who have worked extra hard thru our transition, I wish you
and your families joy, deep and abiding happiness, and
spring-time delight in the presence of the risen, living God.
~ Fr. Mike Barre, ~!
Easter 2018
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
They said to them, “Why do you seek the living one
among the dead? He is not here, but he has been raised.”
Luke 24: 5-6
In the story of the empty tomb, the Church proclaims that
Jesus Christ was so filled with the power of life, that
death could not hold Him. In bursting forth from the
tomb, our Lord manifested His power to empty from life
all the evil that sought to capture and confine it. All of the
bitterness and regret, the alienation and isolation, the anx-
iety and worry, and the fear and trepidation that seeks to
block our path of life and entrap us, have been rolled
away with the resurrection of our Lord.
This Easter, I ask all members of our Catholic faith com-
munity to make the commitment to grow more deeply in
your relationship with Jesus Christ. Participate often in
the sacrament of reconciliation, go to Mass, read the Bi-
ble on a daily basis, pray – always pray – and remember
that the promise made by Christ thousands of years ago is
just as true today as when it was first proclaimed.
May the Spirit of the risen Christ bring great joy to your
hearts this Easter, and may you abide in that joy for all
your days. With every good wish and blessing this bright
season, I remain,
Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki
Archbishop of Milwaukee

Sunday Collection Counters Needed! While we call them "auditors," these folks are basically
people just like you who assist with gathering up the week-
end collections, counting the money, and safely depositing
same at the bank. Archdiocesan and insurance regulations
require that this process be done in a weekly, timely fash-
ion by disinterested, parish volunteers--NOT PARISH
STAFF OR EMPLOYEES!
So, this is a serious request for you to consider joining a
team of fellow parishioners to expedite this necessary, week-
ly duty. The goal is rotating teams, so that you would not be
on duty more than once every three weeks, usually Monday
mornings at 8:15am. The counting area is on the first floor
with 3 small stairs to navigate or back entrance with no
stairs.
Please call Mary Blinkhorn at our parish office
414.461.6073.
We need your help asap.
Thanks, Fr. Mike Barrett

well. We prayerfully enter our own communities too, encounter-
ing those who are hungry and thirsty, those who need our help.

in our daily lives? Visit crsricebowl.org for more. Please remem-
ber to turn in your Rice Bowl contents as soon as possible.
Please make out one check payable to St. Margaret Mary Parish
with “CRS Rice Bowl” in the memo line. Thank you!
AN EASTER PROCLAMATION
The hosts of heaven exult and sing aloud in mighty triumph!
Let the earth be glad as glory alights and night reigns no
more.
Let the Church rejoice at the victory of her Lord and Master,
Who paid the debt of Adam,
Who frees those doomed to die,
Who heals the broken-hearted and bind up their wounds,
Who forgives the sinner and raises up the lowly,
Who destroys death forever,
Whose Kingdom shall have no end.
God our Father, eternal is your love for us!
Christ the Son, in victory you reign!
Holy Spirit, set the Easter fire ablaze in our hearts.
Together you live and reign and ransom your people,
one God forever and ever.
Amen.
Wishing you the joy of the Easter Season!
