Safety Sami Says,

away from the side of the bus. When crossing the street in front of the bus, cross at least 10 feet ( 5 giant steps) in front of the bus.

Stand on the sidewalk or grass five giant steps away from the road while waiting for the school

bus. The bus driver may not see you if you are standing too close to the road.

Before crossing the street to or from the school bus stop, always look left, right, and thenleft again to make sure there are no cars coming. When getting on or off the bus, take 10giant steps straight out from the bus before crossing in front of the bus so the driver cansee you at all times.

Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop and the doors to open before getting on or

off the bus.

Never try to pick up anything up that falls under the bus. The bus driver will not be able to see

you and may start to drive away. Ask the bus driver to help you pick up anything that falls

under the bus.

Listen to the bus driver. The rules are put in place to keep you and other children safe.

Stay seated at all times, and do not yell or talk loudly so you do not distract the bus driver.
