He buys poison form the apothecary A ct V , scene i, lines 80-84 “ There is thy gold- worse poison to men’s souls, /Doing
more murder in this loathsome world,/than these poor compounds that thou mayst not sell./I sell thee poison.”
Romeo convinces himself that he has bought “ gold” or poison to kill himself.
