Combination LockA working lock to cut out and make

InstructionsYou will need a craft knife or other sharp knife, a pair ofscissors, some glue and a glue spreader.

The best type of glue to use is white school glue (PVA.)

First of all print out all five parts sheets onto thin cardboard.Photocopier card is ideal. Leave the ink to dry completelybefore continuing.

Before cutting anything out, score along all the dotted lines andcut out any holes with a craft knife. Both these jobs are easierto do on full sheets of card.

Dashed lines are hill folds, dotted lines are valley folds. Cutalong the solid lines. Grey areas show where to glue.

TheTumblersFor each of the four tumblers start by gluing the chosennumber to the square bridge between the two tumblersides. Make sure that the number is lined up veryaccurately.

Once the glue is dry glue the rest of the numbers intoplace so completing the finished tumbler

The Pins and Centre ShaftAssemble the four pins as shown.

Glue them into place on the centre shaft before thecentre shaft is assembled.

Once the glue has dried, roll round the centre shaft andglue it together as shown.

Finally, glue the end of the centre shaft into placemaking sure that the pins line up with the green markon the shaft end.

Instructions

TheTumblers and Lock Body.Make up the end of the lock and the outer shaft. Becareful to line up the outer shaft with the key holeshape in the lock end.

Lock end

Outer Shaft.

Assembling theTumblers.Slide tumbler number one into place on the outer shaft.Make sure that it is the correct way up!

Slide the first of the spacers up to the tumbler and glue itinto place. Use the grey line for alignment. Make sure thatthe tumbler turns freely while the glue dries.

Repeat the same process with the three remainingtumbler. The flaps on the final spacer glue to the inside ofthe tube.

Once the glue is dry your lock is complete. Make sure youdon't loose the combination number!
