> With the lecturers of School of Drama, Film, TV & Multimedia.

After that, we went to the other side of the campus to the School of Visual Art. We had the chance to see the process of glass making.

We spent 2 hours at the K-ART University. Before we left the university, we took pictures in front of the

main gate of School of Visual Art and one of the hostels in the university.

After touring K-ART University, we went to Yonsei University. We were guided by two University

Ambassadors namely Lee Soomi and Kevin Oh. Soomi is studying Political Science meanwhile Kevin is an economic student. University is a Christian private research university, located in Seoul, South Korea. Established in 1885, it is one of the oldest universities in South Korea and the top private comprehensive universities in South Korea.

The university was formally established in January, 1957 through the union of Yonhi College and Severance Union Medical College . This was a result of a lasting bilateral cooperation between the two colleges which had begun in the 1920s.

The institutions were new to Korea at the time of their inception — Yonhi College was one of the first modern colleges, founded originally as Chosun Christian College in March, 1915, and Severance has its roots in the first modern medical center in Korea, Gwanghyewon (House of Extended Grace), founded in April, 1885. As a tribute, the name 'Yonsei' was derived from the first syllables of the names of its two parent institutions, 'Yon; 연; 延' from Yonhi College and 'Sei; 세; 世' from Severance Union Medical College.

> Above: Doesn’t it look familiar? The building behind us was featured in the Korean drama ‘Iris’ starring Korea’s highest paid actor, Lee Byung Hyun. The statute was built in honour of Yonsei Founder D.R H.G Underwood. The Underwood family has contributed to the education of Korea constructing an educational system, which could fortify education and the Christian spirit. The family motto,” Laughs at impossibilities, and says it shall be done”. It reflects their zeal for a more educated Korea at the time of the founding.

We were so excited when we entered the Yonsei Samsung library. It is funded by the large conglomerate, Samsung Group. The library uses high technology. It promotes a ‘paperless’ library by for example, the visitors need to touch the monitor screens to read newapapers, surf the web, advertise or sharing information.

We appreciated Soomi and Kevin for spending their time to guide us. They helped us by showing places and explaining their life as Yonsei undergraduates. We did exchanged information and sharing views on students’ life and associations in university.

We had lunch at nearby a area, Sinchon. Sinchon is famous as a ladies’ market as it offers many women’s clothing, shoes and accessories as affordable prices. This is may due to its location that is within walking distance to Seoul’s universities like Yonsei, Ewha, Sogang and Hongik. We went to a grilled fish restaurant . The restaurant has a warm and nice feeling since the owner posted the pictures of staffs and customers all over the walls.

Ammar and Halian ordered 오징어 볶음 (spicy stir-fried squid), 생선 구이 and (grilled fish). The taste was so good and very delicious.

The dish was hot and spicy compared to other dishes we tasted before in Korea, something that Faris, Iman and Izzah enjoyed the most. The squids were chewy and were covered with the spicy chilli sauce which looked heavenly delicious!

At night, we had special guests from Soongsil University- Mr Ahn, Mr Lee and Ms Kim. We met Mr Lee earlier at LCCT. He occasionally goes back and forth Seoul-Kuala Lumpur as he works as a businessman cum one of the Directors at the university. At that time, though it was our first meeting, he was so supportive on our programme and suggested we should visit Soongsil University. > From right (sitting): Iman, Jasmine, Chun, Mr Lee, Mr Ahn, Ms Kim, Puan Rusnani, Izzah, Jannah

(standing): Fauzi, Shikin, Zara, Hazman, Fatihah, Bella, Zyma, Nasha

Subhanallah, the night was awesome!!

We experienced a heavy fall of snow for the first time in life; something that we prayed to happen during our stay in South Korea. We even could see the falling of the soft white flakes! Salji berputar~
