Resurrection Catholic Your Church and the Church of the family

Querida familia parroquial, Después de la segunda guerra mundial en una ciudad de Europa la gente comenzó a reconstruir la iglesia parroquial que como las casas, quedó desruida totalmente. Durante los trabajos de limpieza, encontraron también destrozado entre las ruinas, el crucifijo del altar mayor. El cuerpo de Cristo no tenia ni las manos ni los brazos. Cuando se terminó la cons-trucción del templo, esta cruz mutilada (sin brazos y sin manos) fue colo-cada junto al altar mayor y así lo decidió la gente. Junto a la cruz se colo-có un mensaje escrito que decía: “CRISTO NO TIENE YA SUS BRAZOS Y SUS MANOS, NECESITA LOS TUYOS PARA SEGUIR SALVANDO” Queridos Amigos: Cristo necesita tus manos para seguir salvando. Nece-sita tus labios para seguir salvando. Necesita tus corazones para seguir amando. Amigos! En la parroquia de Resurrección desde el altar, Cristo nos invita con los brazos y manos extendidos a unirse como gran familia, como dice uno de los cantos de la iglesia: “Cristo te necesita para amar”. Esta es la tarea que Cristo confía a la iglesia. Tarea que nunca acabará mientras haya un hombre sobre la tierra que necesita ser evangelizado y salvado. Sintamosnos también nosotros elegidos y enviados por Cristo, no solo emoción, sino sobre todo el vivir el evangelio con todo su significa-do. Demos siempre testimonio de amor, unidad y ante todo que nuestro apostolado sea siempre presencia y compromiso. Prediquemos con nues-tra palabra humilde, pero más con nuestra vida. Todos estos actos han de ser sin duda más elocuentes que las palabras. Hermanos y Hermanas, Doy gracias a Cristo por tener la oportunidad de haber sido parte de esta maravillosa familia parroquial durante 8 años que parecen fueron ayer. Agradezco al Señor Obispo Emérito Monseñor Robert Lynch por invi-tarme y aceptarme como servidor en las parroquias de Encarnación en Tampa, San Clemente en Plan City y finalmente como párroco de Resurrección en Riverview. Agradezco al Reverendo Señor Obispo diocesano Monseñor Gregory Parkes por permitirme seguir trabajando hasta mi retiro. A todos los sacerdotes de la Diócesis, especialmente a los de nuestro Decanato, les agradezco por su apoyo, respeto y ayu-da. Que Dios los bendiga con sus gracias. GRACIAS, GRACIAS, GRACIAS. Gracias a ustedes los feligreses por aceptar-me con mis defectos y virtudes. GRACIAS por apoyarme en todas las actividades parroquiales. GRACIAS a las personas de la oficina por su excelente trabajo. GRA-CIAS por confiar sus hijos a la escuelita, a todos los que colaboran con el catecismo, RICA, grupo de jóvenes y formación de fe de adultos. Hemos crecido juntos en la parroquia en número, tesoro y santidad. ¡Alabado sea Dios! Me llamo Eugenio y “tengo un Genio”, y por eso pido a Dios y a ustedes que perdonen mis fallas, espe-cialmente si cuando sin intención hice sufrir a alguien. A todos, sin mencionar a nadie en especial, los llevo en mis oraciones, en mis ojos y en mi corazón.

Finalmente me atrevo a perdirles un nuevo favor: amen a su Iglesia y apoyen a su nuevo párroco Monseñor Miguel. Recen por favor por él y colaboren con él para que sigan creciendo en la unión y santidad dando testimonio que Monseñor Miguel y uste-des son los brazos y manos de Cristo que sigue viviendo y salvando en sus familias y en la comunidad parroquial.

Dear Parish family, After the Second World War in a city in Europe, people began to rebuild the parish church that like the houses, was destroyed. During the time people were cleaning up, they found the main altar destroyed among the ruins. The body of Christ had neither hands nor arms. When the construction of the sanctuary was completed, this mu-tilated cross (without arms and hands) was placed next to the main altar as it was decided by the people. Next to the cross was placed a written message: "CHRIST DOES NOT HAVE HIS ARMS OR HIS HANDS. HE NEEDS YOURS TO CONTINUE HIS PLAN OF SALVATION" Dear friends: Christ needs your hands to continue saving lives, your lips to contin-ue saving. He needs your hearts to con-tinue loving. My friends in Resurrection parish, Christ invites us from the altar with outstretched arms and hands to join as a great family, as one of the songs of the church says: "Christ needs you to love." This is the task that Christ entrusts to the church. A task that will never end while there is a man on earth who needs to be evangelized and saved. Let us also feel ourselves chosen and sent by Christ, not only with emotion and joy, but to live the gospel with all its means. Let us always be witnesses of love, unity and above all feel that our apostolate is always present. Let us preach with our humble words but more with our life. All these must undoubtedly be more eloquent than words. Dear brothers and sisters, I give Christ thanks to have the opportunity to have been part of this wonderful parish for eight years that seem they have been yesterday. I thank Bishop Emeritus Robert Lynch for inviting and accepting me as a servant in the parishes of Incarnation in Tampa, St Clement in Plant City and finally as pastor of Resurrection in Riverview. I thank Bishop Gregory Parkes for allowing me to continue working until my retirement. I thank all the priests of the Diocese, espe-cially to those of our Deanery for their help, support and respect. May God bless you with all His graces. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Thank you to the parishioners for accepting me with my virtues and failures. THANK YOU for supporting me in all the parish activities. THANKS to the people in the office for their excellent work. THANK YOU, par-ents, for trusting your children to the preschool and to all those who helped with the catechism, RCIA, youth group and adult faith formation. We have grown together in the parish in number, treasure and holiness. Praise God!
