GSFC inaugurated its first ever Greenfield university ‘GSFC University’ in august presence of honourable ministers Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasma & Shri Saurabhbhai Patel at Training Institute, Fertilizernagar Township, Vadodara on 03/08/2015. The inauguration ceremony was attended by many other dignitaries. GSFC University is recognized under the Gujarat Private University (Second Amendment) Act, 2014. The vision of the University is “To establish and evolve a Research Driven University that provides a platform to Excel and Develop Human Capital that the world Aspire to work with” Initially GSFC University is starting with School of Technology (SoT) with total intake of 150; 90 in Mechanical and 60 in Chemical engineering. Academic session commenced from today at Training Institute, Fertilizernagar Township, Vadodara; it has all the requisite amenities like Auditorium, Classrooms, State of the Art Lab & Computer Centre, Library, Cafeteria, WiFi, etc. On the occasion Dr. S K Nanda, IAS, CMDGSFC & President GSFC University advised students to be active and creative in life rather than being reactive, he added that GSFC University will provide very good opportunity to students to learn from the best of academia and industries in patronage of GSFC. For the third successive year , the Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited has bagged the Fertilizer Association of India Western Region (FAIWR) “Mahadhan Award” for the xcellence in Crop improvement and productivity for the year 201415. The award was onferred at a grand function during FAIWR Annual Meeting held at Pune on 23rd June 2015. This award was received by Mr. S. P. Yadav, Sr. VP (Agri Business ) and and Mr. B.L. Lakhani, (ARBH) GSFC Pune in the august presence of Dr. S. K. Nanda, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of GSFC, through the hands of Dr. S.S. Magar, ExVC Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth. GSFC was chosen for the award by the Fertilizer Association of India, Western egionCommittee in recognition of a Special Demonstration on Paddy crop conducted by GSFC Gujarat Team in District Vadodara. Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC) Vadodara, has won the GHKCGreEnv Award2014 for maintaining best Good House Keeping standard among the Companies of Fertilizer sector in Pan India competition consecutively for the second year. The function of Excellence Award ceremony was organized by Baroda Productivity Council at Vadodara on March 14, 2015. Where in Dr. S K Nanda, IAS, CMD of the company GSFC was Chief Guest and award was received by Team GSFC. GSFC looks upon the environment as a legacy for the future generation. Besides ensuring green technology, GSFC has also ensured a green surrounding by establishing a nursery at Fertilizernagar which provides saplings, flowers and plants. Company has developed and maintained more than 100 gardens in and around actory and township area. Thus GSFC creates clean and green environment. The Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi, today honoured Dr. S. K. Nanda, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of GSFC with its prestigious ‘Udyog Rattan Award’. Dr. Nanda also received on this occasion the institute’s‘Excellence Award’ conferred on Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (GSFC). Dr. Nanda received the award from Shri ishnu Deo Sai, Hon’ble Minister of State for Steel and Mines, GoI in the presence of Shri Bhishma Narain Singh and Shri V. P. Singh ExGovernor, GoI in an impressive ceremony at ndia Habitat Centre, New Delhi on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Winner of Subhash Chandra Bose National Award for Excellence, an award recognized by UNESCO and Communal armony Award, Dr. S. K. Nanda is an IAS officer of 1978 batch. He has held key positions during his career viz. He has been the Assistant Collector and Collector in the districts of Dang, adodara, Panchmahal, Banaskantha and Junagadh. During his stint with the Government, Dr. Nanda has successfully handled key government departments like Health, Tourism, Information & Broadcasting, Finance, Food & Civil Supply, and Forest & Environment. Known as the Man of Management, Dr. Nanda has been instrumental in managing various socio-political and atural crises in the State for the last 35 years of his service as an administrator. (11) GSFC signed Contract for Setting up 40,000 MTPA Melamine Project at Vadodara Date : Feb 06, 15

In Presence of Dr. S.K. Nanda, IAS, Chairman & Managing Director – Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GSFC), contract has been signed by executives of GSFC and M/s Casale, Switzerland on 5th February 2015 for setting up 40,000 MTPA Melamine Project at an estimated cost of Rs.900 crores at its Vadodara complex. M/s Casale, witzerland will provide high pressure technology which has an advantage of producing Melamine of superior quality. This plant would be a step in the direction of import substitution and will save foreign exchange outgo. The Company already operates successfully two Melamine Plants at its adodara Complex with an aggregate production capacity of 15000 MTPA, which after ommissioning of the proposed project by 3rd quarter of FY 201718 would give total Melamine production of 55000 MTPA. This would strengthen GSFC’s Industrial Products basket and ould consolidate the Company’s position as market leader.

(12) GSFC laid Foundation Stone of New Plant at GSFC Sikka Unit. Date : Feb 05, 15

Dr. S.K. Nanda, IAS Chairman and Managing Director of GSFC laid the foundation stone for its new plant at Sikka in Jamnagar district for the manufacture of Phosphatic fertilizers. The project is being set up with an investment of Rs 900 crores. The new plant is the fourth unit to come at the company’s manufacturing complex at Sikka with required ancillary facilities like Bagging Plant and Silos for storage etc. The Sikka complex is spread over in 776 acres land at Motikhavdi; dist.Jamnagar and engaged in manufacture of Diammonium phosphate (DAP)/Ammonium phosphate sulphate/NPK etc. having an aggregate production capacity of 2520 tonnes per day and 7.22 lakhs per year. With the commencement of this new plant, the production capacity would increase by 5.44 lakh tonnes a year taking GSFC’s aggregate manufacturing capacity to 12.66 lakh tonnes. Alongside the company is also setting up silos & Storage tanks for ammonia & phosphoric acid. GSFC also proposes to undertake dredging operations at Sikka to enable vessels with large capacity to berth at the jetty, facilitating higher volumes of phosphoric acid imports thereby saving on foreign exchange. GSFC a joint venture enterprise of Gujarat Govt. was established in 1962. Having registered office at Fertilizernagar, Vadodara it manufactures ‘Sardar’ brand chemical fertilizer and various other chemicals and industrial products.

This award is in recognition of GSFC’s pioneering efforts in producing vital agroinputs in an environmental friendly way for the NP/NPK Complex Fertilizer Category. Shri Ananth Kumar, Union Cabinet Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Shri Hansraj Aahir, MoS for Chemicals and Fertilizers, GoI presented this award to Dr. S K Nanda, IAS, Chairman & Managing Director, GSFC during the Annual Seminar of FAI at New Delhi on December 10, 2014. The award ceremony was attended by Chief Executives and Senior Officials from leading Indian fertilizer manufacturing companies and the senior officials of

Government of India. At GSFC Sikka plant, 99% raw material consumption efficiency is obtained with one of the best pollution control systems embedded into the basic plant design with Zero Discharge of Effluents. There is no solid waste generation during the process. Entire liquid effluents generated are recycled to conserve water. Even in the case of gaseous emissions, it is much below the pollution control norms. GSFC is committed to enrich the farmers’ life by providing them the much needed quality nutrients for their crops and by helping them to adopt scientific farming techniques for achieving higher productivity.

(17) GSFC RECEIVES CROP PRODUCTIVITY AWARD Date : Dec 06, 14

The Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited has bagged the Fertilizer Association of India Western Region (FAIWR) Mahadhan Award for Excellence in Crop improvement and productivity for the year 201314. The award was conferred at a grand function during FAIWR Review Meeting held at Pune on 25th November, 2014. This award was received by Mr. S. P. Yadav, General Manager (Marketing), in the august presence of Dr. S. K. Nanda, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of GSFC, through the hands of Mr. Shailesh Mehta, Chairman of FAIWR. The Award carries a cash prize, trophy & a certificate of appreciation. As a part of its agro extension efforts, GSFC had organized demonstration plots across India helping farmers to adopt a package of best practices to achieve high productivity. At a demonstration plot in Maharashtra, a farmer produced 21% more maize, adopting GSFC practice and was adjudged the best amongst the plots of other fertilizer Companies by the Jury.

(18) SCADA System of Energy Management Cell inaugurated by MDGSFC Date : Oct 31, 14

Managing Director of GSFC Shri Atanu Chakraborty, IAS inaugurated SCADA Control room and SCADA system installed at cogeneration plant of GSFC Vadodara on 18.10.2014. Senior Executives of the company, President & Secretary and other member of GSE Union remained present to grace the occasion. GSFC is the first company to commission such integrated and complex SCADA system. SCADA project is designed, engineered, procured, installed, tested and commissioned in record time of 3 months utilizing in house resources. Energetic and enthusiastic team of GSFC led by Mr. H D Dalsania Addl General Manager, worked consistently for timely completion of SCADA project. It’s a unique project having centralised on line monitoring of mix of various process parameters like steam, gas, water as well as utilities like power and windmills generation data. Live data from remotely located 88 nos windmills throughout Gujarat are communicated through GPRS to centralised SCADA system located at GSFC. More than three thousands on line parameters are being monitored and recorded in SCADA system. Instant and on line data monitoring will help GSFC in taking quick and timely decisions for saving cost of utilities and effective management of energy. It is targeted to recover Cost of SCADA system in 2 years by optimum utilisation of energy.
