EDITORIALFor already nearly a decade MEGA has concentrated its vision, convictions and automotive expe-

rience to create work tools that are truly adapted to their environment. The aim of MEGA is

to accompany a changing world that is progressively abandoning excess and surplus in favour of

made-to-measure solutions.

For 10 years MEGA has observed the daily lives of the men and women on the ground and developed

innovation in the fields of performance and safety to respond to their needs, whilst adopting a sus-

tainable development approach respectful of the environment.

In 2011, in line with its ongoing quest for innovation, MEGA is again extending its range of electric

and internal combustion vehicles for professionals.

The latest in the MEGA range, the new 100% electric commercial vehicle: the e-Worker. An original,

sturdy design, excellent loading and towing capabilities; safe dynamic behaviour and exemplary

ergonomics, the e-Worker is available in multiple versions: with a choice of batteries, two available

wheelbases and a large choice of equipment. The MEGA e-Worker is already the reference for com-

pact electric commercial vehicles in the 21st century.

The MEGA Multitruck has not been left out since a new, short wheelbase electric version has been

added to this range, to complement the four-door MEGA City lithium.

MEGA, with the largest choice of eco-vehicles on the market, strongly reaffirms its commitment to

creating useful solutions that respect the environment as well as the comfort and safety of the users.

MEGA, the brand for «responsible commercial vehicles».

We would like to once again thank those who believe, like us, in this necessary approach and who

accompany us in our strong development.

Our compact commercial vehicles are

perfect for squeezing through modern

towns with dense and increasing traffic,

less space allocated to transport, lane

sharing (cars, buses, bicycles, pedes-

trians, etc.). They can of course negotiate

the roads easily on all surfaces.

With more than 2000 electric vehicles and more than 8000 low CO2 emis-sion internal combustion engine vehicles (77.9 g/km) operating today,

MEGA is contributing to the respect of the environment all over the world.

MEGA believes that the environment has

always been a key issue. In view of this

priority the company has always sought to

optimise its vehicle engines, aerodynamics

and recycling.

AN ADAPTED MOTORThe company has been working with KUBO-

TA for diesel engines and the best manu-

facturers for electric motors to develop a

whole new range of engines that are low

on fuel consumption and have the best-

controlled CO2 emissions in their category.

OPTIMISED VEHICLE WEIGHTThanks to the use of strong, light materials

and a constant search for the best com-

promises combining performance, safety

and comfort, the vehicle unladen weight

(excluding batteries) never exceeds 550 kg

and the speed is limited to a maximum of

65 km/h. These two parameters are funda-

mental to give the vehicle optimum energy

performance, whether electric or thermal

version.

EUROPEAN RECORDMEGA has in fact now broken all the re-

cords and confirmed its leadership with 37

% less CO2 than the average target of 125 g

set by the European Parliament for 2015 for

its 400 diesel version.

The electric version, whose sales are rising

sharply, is of course the ideal solution in

terms of sustainable development.

ECO DESIGNDesign also plays an active role in this

constant effort to respect the environ-

ment. By making its vehicles as aerodyna-

mic as possible, MEGA offers every advan-

tage in a range of vehicles that combines

aesthetics and respect of the environment.

RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT IS MEGA’S COMMITMENT.

SAFETY*MEGA chose Lithium Iron Phosphate tech-nology that today offers the highest gua-rantees in terms of safety. Development and manufacture of the Battery Manage-ment System (B.M.S.) are carried out in France, as well as assembly of the cells.

Full tests have been carried out in col-laboration with the largest French

laboratories.

The power of the onboard charger does not exceed

2 kW, so the batteries can be recharged from

a domestic power outlet in complete

safety.

LONG LIFETIMEThe batteries used on MEGA have a long lifetime, which partly offsets their higher cost compared tra-ditional lead-acid batteries.

They have no memory effect and age slowly.

Applications such as transfer of staff between sites and the transportation of small

packages in urban and semi-urban areas require performance levels that only high

technology batteries can offer. MEGA therefore proposes vehicles equipped with Lithium

batteries which match the situation perfectly.

Lead-acid batteries represent another alternative for different applications and uses.

ECONOMY The lead-acid battery

solution is the cheapest for applications which do not require

high performance in terms of auto-nomy and speed in particular. Howe-ver considerable development work on Lithium batteries is in progress and will continue, and their cost can be expected to drop significantly in the next few years. MEGA must take steps to remain at the forefront of the future technologies.

PERFORMANCEFor equal energy output, the lithium battery is 250 kg lighter than a standard version. Moreover, since MEGA vehicles are very light the gain in terms of per-formance is very significant. The City model therefore has a maximum speed of 65 km/h, autonomy of up to 100 km and takes full advantage of the induction motor and high torque at low revs.

1992 THE BIRTH OF MEGA10 years after the creation of Aixam the company becomes AIXAM MEGA with the creation

of a new brand of vehicles developed in France: MEGA. The company was created due to

a desire to diversify into the conventional car «with licence» market. The objective is to

add value to the dynamism and skills of the Aixam team.

LAUNCH OF THE MEGA CONCEPT FIRST GENERATIONIn its quest for diversity MEGA develops a leisure vehicle destined for the general public

that has an exceptional modularity, enabling the user to adapt the vehicle according to

his needs, as a Pick Up, an estate version or a convertible.

mega trackMega launches its first prestige four-wheel drive vehicle equipped with a V12 Mercedes

engine developing 395 HP.

1996 mega monte-carloMEGA takes over the Monte-Carlo Automobile Company based in Monaco and develops

a new exceptional Touring model.

1998 MEGA CONCEPT 2ND GENERATIONProduction of the MEGA 5 CV convertible and modular, available in a saloon car version

or a Utility version.

2002 ULTRA LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLESIntroduced at the Paris Motorshow in September 2002, the MEGA Ultra light commercial

vehicles are adapted for professional or local authority markets

2006MEGA launches the Multitruck 2nd generation which benefits from record cab size.

2007 MEGA CITY: AN ELECTRIC PASSENGER VEHICLEA clean, urban, compact vehicle perfectly suited to town and professional use.

2010 MEGA City lithiumMEGA CITY second generation is equipped with lithium batteries.

2011 MEGA E-WORKER AND SHORT MEGA MULTITRUCKThe commercial vehicle of the 21st century.

HISTORY D E V E L O P M E N T & H I G H L I G H T S

CUSTOMISED STUDIESMega is open to the most ambitious and attractive projects.

The modular MEGA Multitruck, thanks to its chassis cab base, offers a vehicle volume of

more than 4m3 whilst remaining compact.

Ideal for mobile sales activities and the transport of food products (Insulated or Refri-

gerated version).

Front wheel drive leaves the rear axle free and allows the design of special bodywork with

low ground clearance, which means that vehicles high enough to stand up in can be built.

LEGISLATION / DO YOU KNOW IT?

FAQ / MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO DRIVE A MEGA VEHICLE?

To drive a light quadricycle in France, you

must be over 16, and two cases are distin-

guished depending on the driver’s date

of birth: If the driver was born before 1st

January 1988, no need for a licence or road

safety certificate.

If the driver was born after 1st January 1988,

he must be over 16 and hold a road safety

certificate («light quadricycle» option) or a

licence (motorcycle or car).

For heavy quadricyles, visit our website.

MEGA DISTRIBUTE ACROSS EUROPE. IS THE LAW THE SAME AS IN FRANCE?

The Communities Council set out manufac-

turing rules applicable to each type of vehi-

cle on the market. Quadricycles have thus

been defined as follows:

• Light quadricycles

• Heavy quadricycles

• Platform trucks

For more information,

please visit our website

www.mega-vehicles.com

WHAT IS THE AUTONOMY OF A MEGA ELECTRIC VEHICLE?

The vehicle autonomy varies according

to the battery pack used, the technology,

the driving style and the site geographic

configuration. Overall, the autonomy varies

between 50 and 100 km.

CAN THE MEGA ELECTRIC LAST A WHOLE WORKING DAY?

Most of the time, yes. It obviously depends

on the organisation. On average, local

authority vehicles cover 25 km/day. Most

service vehicles are oversized. The Mega

electric offers customers the opportunity

to optimise the use of their fleet. If more

autonomy is required, however, the ther-

mal versions are quite suitable.

Do you need a terminal to charge the batteries?

No, just an ordinary 220V/16A domestic

socket.

How much does it cost to run a Mega electric?

Electric vehicles have low maintenance

costs. They are economical: less than €1 for

100 kilometres.

What is the price of a Mega?

The cost varies according to the version,

whether thermal or electric, options, the

battery pack chosen, etc.

What are the Mega’s references?

With nearly 20 years of experience in the

field of vehicles, from car racing to com-

mercial vehicles, MEGA is a key player in the

compact vehicle market.
