He is a 1955 Graduate of Box High School at 8th and Mifflin Streets. He has five children, three daughters and two sons. Following high school, he worked for over 20 years as a maintenance worker for Albert J. Price in South Philadelphia. He also worked part-time as an interior designer and a city cab driver. He shared a lot of fond feelings related to his professional positions but commented that he was robbed four times and shot at twice while driving his cab. Following those jobs, he started working as a monitor at the Evelyn Graves Academy. Emanuel shared that he loved working with the children while he was there. It was at this point in time that he started preaching at the adjacent church. He had worked alongside the love of his life Susie at the church and school for over 18 years and it wasn’t until receiving a suggestion from the pastor that the two decided that they were more than just good friends. This suggestion led Reverend Brinson into a marriage that has provided him with “the happiest 10 years of my life.” When asked if he wanted to leave anyone with any words as our Resident of the Month, he said, “let God lead the way” – it worked for him. SUMMER COOK-OUTS

2018 DANCE-A-THON

For a fourth-consecutive year, the residents of Renaissance Healthcare and Rehabilitation participated in a Dance-A-Thon to raise money for the children who live at Families Forward Philadelphia. The event was a tremendous success and we would like to thank our dancers (pictured above), along with DJ Ronald Richardson, and all of the staff, families, and visitors who sponsored our residents in their fund-raising efforts. The proceeds collected will be used to help these young students attend summer camp programs. We now look forward to our Annual School Supply Drive so we can help these young scholars prepare for the coming school year.

Summer is a season for eating outside. Every Friday between Memorial Day and Labor Day, one unit or hallway of residents will be given the choice to have their normal lunch in the dining room or head outside for a Friday Summer Cook-Out. Outside, residents will be treated to a menu which will include hotdogs, hamburgers, and seasonal favorites like watermelon, baked beans, pasta salad, and macaroni salad. We hope to see all of you on our Chester Avenue Patio! It promises to be a great summer!
