Employees are encouraged and committed to making environmental sustainability a priority when purchasing new tools and components, developing processes and products, and in establishing the procedures and practices we employ every day. This includes: Recovering and re-using water and chemicals used in industrial cleaning Re-engineering processes and practices to reduce energy and resource consumption Recycling shop materials, scrap metals and lubricants Re-furbishing vehicle tires Preventative maintenance and onsite containment practices to keep job sites clean Purchasing energy efficient and emission reducing vehicles and equipment CARBON DISCLOSURE PROJECT The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) works with corporations around the world to disclose carbon emissions information based on fuel usage to the public. Trican participates in the CDP program and will use the data to track our emissions and make improvements where possible. REMOTE MONITORING SOLUTIONS Trican Remote Monitoring Solutions uses pressure transducers equipped with displays installed on required offset wells to mitigate interwellbore communication. These remote stations record pre- and post-frac baseline data, and transmit real-time offset pressure data, allowing us to monitor pressure changes that may indicate communication between two wellbores. FRACFOCUS Many states and provinces in North America have adopted a reporting structure called FracFocus, a collaboration among jurisdictions, regulators and industry to provide objective information on hydraulic fracturing to the public. Trican supports its customers by providing the required information for reporting purposes.

Minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment is one of Trican’s core values. Employees are encouraged and committed to making environmental sustainability a priority when purchasing new tools and components, developing processes and products, and in establishing the procedures and practices we employ every day. This includes:

RECENT PRoDUCT DEvELoPMENTour DryFR™ friction reducers are environmentally friendly, non-toxic, biodegradable and non-bio-accumulating powders used in slick water fracturing that drastically reduce the number of chemical transport vehicles required on location.

TriFrac-MLT™ is a crosslinked gelled water system highly tolerant of salt and other contaminants, allowing the reuse of untreated oilfield produced water, water that is produced along with oil/gas from a wellbore, and flowback water with greater than 25% salt content.

Sustainable Cement is a program that ensures your cement sheath will maintain its integrity for the life of the well. It combines cement mechanical property testing with cement sheath integrity modelling to design an economic cement blend that will withstand all the life cycle stresses in your wellbore.

Trican’s unique proppant coating method for dust control mitigates the release of silica dust during hydraulic fracturing operations and enhances the conductivity performance of ordinary frac sand. Addressing the health hazard posed by silica dust is critical for the safety of our workers and our neighbours.

ADDITIoNAL TRICAN PRoDUCTSThe Trican FR series of salt tolerant friction reducers improves fluid flow, while facilitating the use of produced and flowback waters, alleviating the strain on fresh water sources.

Trican’s expanding line of EcoClean™ products include additives that are non-toxic, bio-degradable, and non-bio-accumulating, individually or in combination, and each will pass the stringent Microtox® test.

GBO-1™ is an environmentally friendly, solid oxidizing agent that is used to “break” both friction reducers and aqueous gels to facilitate flowback of the slick water frac fluid.

GSI-1™ is a broad spectrum scale inhibitor that is very effective in preventing carbonate and sulfate scale precipitation in fracturing systems, sometimes associated with using produced and recycled water.

GCS-1™ is a clay control additive that is chloride free, and highly effective in preventing clay swelling and migration.

GFE-1™ is a biodegradable product that is used to improve the total fluid recovery or flowback from the formation after a fracturing treatment.

GNE-1™ is a non-emulsifier surfactant that, when added to a water-based fracturing fluid, will prevent emulsions forming between the injected water and any in-situ oil or condensate that the water may contact.

AI-7NR is an environmentally friendly acidizing inhibitor that is non-reactive to the formation minerology, completely dispersible in both live and spent acid systems, and free of propargyl alcohol.

DryGel™ is a rapid hydrating, self-dispersing guar gum powder used in hydraulic fracturing operations that provides a cleaner fluid to the formation and reduces the volume and weight of product being transported to the jobsite.

Kronos™ is a high temperature, ultra-low polymer crosslinked fluid with rapid break times. In a previous application, the Kronos resulted in 35% less fluid being pumped on average, with 27.5% lower pump rates.

MVP Frac™ is a simple-to-apply additive that modifies ordinary proppant, giving each grain of sand the ability to travel higher and deeper into the reservoir, economically increasing production while decreasing water usage.
