los días. • Es mi clase favorita. • Los verbos son
fantásticos. • Necesito aprender más.
To be able to conjugate verbs, you must know your subject pronouns. Review below.
Singular Plural • yo=I nosotros/nosotras =we • tú=you (familiar) vosotros/vosotras=you guys
(informal in Spain)• él=he ellos-they (all guys/mixed)
• ella=she ellas-they (girls)• usted (Ud.)-(you formal) ustedes (Uds.)=you all
(formal in Spain)
• *Vosotros(as) is only used in Spain.
There is no word for “it” in Spanish as a subject.
If you want to use an object or a place as the subject, use the él, ella, Ud. form of the verb when conjugating.
Ejemplos…La clase lee el libro. (The class reads the book.)El banco llama a los clientes. (The bank calls the
customers.)

• Verbs end in either -ar, -er, or –ir• Infinitives are generic verb forms with no
tense and no subject. • An infinitive verb means “to plus a verb”. • For example, trabajar means “to work”.
There are 3 types of infinitive verbs in Spanish
Verb conjugation• Conjugating means changing the verb ending to
reflect tense and also having a subject. The subject often is the person doing the action.
For example: To say “I prepare dinner every day,”change preparar (to prepare) to (Yo) preparo la cena todos los días.
• In Spanish, almost every verb has a different ending, so the subject pronouns are often omitted. They can be used for emphasis or clarification.
