ST. PETER PARISH MISSION STATEMENT

We, the believers of St. Peter Parish, having our beginnings as the earliest Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of New Orleans on the Northshore, in response to God's call, come together:

to love God and one another to worship as a faith community to be God's hands, heart and mind and to provide for our community's spiritual and

physical needs

In doing this, we glorify God and help realize His reign on earth. While rejoicing in the experience of our pilgrimage, we must ever keep in mind our ultimate destination through our faithful stewardship of time, talent and treasure. Called to be a prayerful and hospitable Catholic family of living faith, we welcome and invite all people to share in our unique gifts of the Holy Spirit.

An Engaging Journey through the Bible by Jeff Cavins and Sarah Christmyer

This four-part study provides the easiest way to understand the Bible. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible makes the complex simple. It helps you uncover the story woven throughout Scripture so that you can get the “big picture” of the Bible and understand what it is all about. The Bible is a story about the Father’s unfailing love for you - a love that you are now called to share with others.

A Stewardship Moment

Pentecost Sunday May 20th: Today we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit, the birth of the Church and the beginning of its mission in the world. Pentecost Sunday reminds us that our lives are filled with the Holy Spirit and God has accom-plished creative things in us through this gift. We have been entrusted with this great gift of the Holy Spirit. Now is a good time to ask: Are we being good stewards of this gift? What creative things have we done to glorify God’s accomplishments in us?

11

.

Pentecost May 20th:

Today as we celebrate Pentecost the Holy Spirit wants to make us advocates of God’s presence to bring new life to others, especially those who do not know the love of God in their lives.

Your gift in the St. Vincent de Paul poor box will help the poor to believe in the mystery of God’s love for them.
